Laundry (always), dishes (always), phone parents, get up early, go to bed, etc.

Main Course
Tell something interesting about one of your family members (nothing scandalous, please, just something unique).

(editors note: oops I forgot this one when I first posted.) Mmmm . . . something interesting. I guess that would be that my father was once the star in a stage play in toronto. He was offered a roll in a big movie but then during negotiations his manager skipped town with all his stuff. Leaving Dad out in the cold.

Dessert
What's the latest you've ever stayed awake?

Probably about 5 in the morning, not including working nightshift and staying up for 2 days.

Thursday Thirteen--Things I've learned

Thirteen Things TC has learned from Little Princess
  1. When Little Princess has to go potty she has to go IMMEDIATELY.
  2. When you make a new and wonderful change to improve Little Princess's room, she will only see different and promptly demand you, "PUT IT BACK!"
  3. I can be conned by a Four year old when she throws her arms around me when she thinks she is in trouble. I can start out with good intentions but when she does that there are times, I let her con me into not being upset any more.
  4. It is possible for a child to prefer carrots to cookies and for her to love fish sticks one day and gag on them the next.
  5. It is possible to share a single serving of soup with Little Princess as long as you eat all the "stuff" and she gets all the broth.
  6. It is impossible to make a dinner every day that will please Little princess and Prince Charming and I.
  7. A Child can be up all night singing in her room and still get up at the crack of dawn and knock on your door for breakfast.
  8. Your heart will not explode with love even though it feels like it sometimes when Little Princess insists on cuddling on the couch for no reason.
  9. When there comes a day, you child prefers to hug you than kiss you. Don't assume it is your breath. This new development apparently applies evenly to everyone.
  10. When your child is sick it is possible for her to love you and want you exclusively one moment and then decide that you are the enemy and she prefers daddy the next minute. Don't panic, her allegiances will switch later and he will be left out in the cold.
  11. Nothing is sweeter than a daddy and his daughter. Period.
  12. New clothes stay new for about as long as it takes for you to get her dressed and out the door.
  13. Puddles have an irresistable pull to a small child, who will jump in them with joy and the cry when she realizes that she is wet.

Wordless Wednesday--Birthday Party Fun

Editor's note: I know this is supposed to be WORDLESS Wednesday but I feel I should add that the little boy in the first pic is the absolutely adorable child of my neighbour. it is his birthday party we were attending. His cute older brother is going to be in Little Princess's class when they start Kindergarten and is in her preschool class now.

Food Fights and other mommy stuff

Woohoo she is has discovered the wonder that is eating! I finally seem to be knocking it into Little Princess's head that food is NOT the enemy. She has been eating a whole range of things from carrot sticks to peanut butter and jelly and soup, and the list goes on and on. The list of foods that are no longer on the restricted list goes on.

This is such a hard battle for me. I have eating issues. I suffer from empty plate syndrome. I don't want to pass along my isses to my daughter but at the same time, I want her to be exposed to and eat a wide variety of foods. This mothering thing really should come with a manual. Each kid should come with a notebook tied to their toes that explains all their likes and dislikes as well as all the tricks to get your child to grow up to be the healthy well-adjusted adult we are all trying to create.

And while we are at it, there are a few other requests that would be helpful. You know, a password that automatically pottytrains your child when spoken would be nice. A button on the back that switches temper tantrum child back into loving helpful child would be good as well. Do you have any requests? I am sending in my letter as soon as I figure out who can make these changes for me.

On the other hand, I do have to brag a little. Little Princess is doing so much better. Her temper tantrums have cut way back. She enjoyed preschool yesterday, her teacher even mentioned how much better she was doing. *insert proud mommy moment*. And she wants to do everythings for herself. She insists on putting her own peanut butter on the sandwich, on cutting up weiners and putting them in the microwave for her snack, on getting her own milk. I swear she is four going on forty. I had to put a bunch of plastic knives in the drawer for her. She knows that these are her knives and she is so proud of it.

Four Things about Monday

  1. I am going to have to clean Little Princess's room thoroughly. I swear she is a walking hurricane leaving a path of distruction in her wake. But now it is even worse there are some mystery substances stuck to her floor! It is nasty and disgusting and seeing as how she is four and capable of anything, I don't want to know what it is.
  2. I am going to have to change around my living room. My couch is right in front of my heater and now that it is getting colder I want to be able to turn on the heater without burning the house down. When I was very small, our apartment building burned down because someone laid their mattress up against the wall while moving and it was leaning in front of the heater. So I am paranoid about that. No heater gets turned on unless it has nothing in front of or on top of it.
  3. Little Princess has taken to complaining about Preschool. I am not sure what to make of that. She loved it at first but now she says things like, "But I LOVE you." or "But I MISS you." I am touched that she misses me, but I want her to be happy. I am chalking it up to the fact that this all started once preschool started and she had to actually do work for some time while she was there. I am telling myself that this is good preparation for kindergarten and that she has to learn to sit still and do her work before kindergarten starts.
  4. Went to a birthday party for cutest little boy in the world yesterday. He turned two and he was soo sweet! In true four year old style, Little Princess wanted to open his presents for him. I held her in my arms and watched him open his presents amid much complaining on her part.

Sunday Searches

I have had some interesting people search on google and get me instead of what they were looking for. Here are two examples that made me smile:

  • Do some people think Dr. Phil sucks?--Now while I am sure some people do, I don't recall ever mentioning Dr. Phil, let alone whether or not I thought he sucks. (I don't. LOL) So to the poor soul who google mistakenly led here, I'm sorry. I have no idea which people think he sucks.
  • Just what do I do when I can't get no lovin?--I really have no idea what to do when you can't get lovin. Write Dear Abby? Go to a singles bar? Ask a friend to set you up? I have to tell you whatever decision you make you probably won't find your advice on my blog. Sorry. I have been happily married for quite some time and proper lovin comes with the package.

I love to read and find out what people were looking for when they found me. It is too funny to think that they were looking for something so completely random and fate (or google) sent them to me instead. I wonder how long they stay when they get here?

Saturday Photo Hunt--Eyes

PSHunt

I truly love my baby's eyes. She came into this world looking at me with the biggest brownest eyes with the longest lashes you have ever seen and she stole my heart away. When I look at her now with those beautiful eyes, I know she will break heart some day.

Food Wars

After considering Little Princess's diet for some while, I have decided that over time, her diet has become way too limited. She has slowly but surely whittled down the list of "acceptable" foods until it was about 3 or 4 items. No food is too good to be on her offensive list, just in the last days the following foods have been labelled as "yucky": oreo cookies, ice cream, eggs, tomatoes (that weren't "squishy"), and macaroni and cheese. It isn't safe to assume that any food that a normal kid will like will be acceptable.

So now we have a new rule. She has to at least try whatever I am making for supper. I don't mind picking out peppers, or adding a little cheese, but she has try two good bites. As you can imagine, this is meeting with some resistance but it just isn't healthy for my girl to be living on granola bars, chicken nuggets, fish sticks and weiners.

Today, I have had some successes. For lunch she requested a salad with no dressing, just lettuce and carrot sticks and dill pickles. I was thrilled she was eating and gave her as many baby carrots as she felt like eating. Tonight, after some debate and picking out of the offending corn and beans, she ate the chili I made for supper. This was a victory. I won another battle. This battle is staged to go on for some time, but we normally eat pretty healthy foods in this house and I refuse to continue making 3 meals for 3 people. She will grow up to like a variety of foods.

Main Course
If someone gave you $50 to spend with the one condition that it had to be educational, what would you purchase?

Dessert
Do you tend to prefer dark colors, neutral shades, or lighter/pastel hues?

Thursday Thirteen--Thankful

Thirteen Things TC is thankful for
  1. Little Princess seems to be on the mend. She went to Preschool yesterday and I had a good report from them as well.

  2. I didn't hear the phrase, "Ow it hurts!" or "Mommy! I'm sick." at all yesterday

  3. I managed to survive an entire day of temper tantrums and whining on Tuesday without throwing a tantrum myself. Even when she poured an entire bottle of cough medicine down the drain to keep from having to take it.

  4. She is eating again. She hasn't been eating well and when she woke up yesterday and her first words were, "Mommy, I'm hungry", I kissed her.

  5. She is learning her letters. She went through some of them with me yesterday and knew what they all were.

  6. I managed to budget almost everything into our budget that needs to be.

  7. Prince Charming was kind enough to give me a break on Tuesday when I was ready to pull my hair out.

  8. I have a kitchen full of food and a roof over my head and a family I love within its walls.

  9. I have several novels by my bed that I love to read to relax before going to sleep. Most nights, I get through to pages and I am so exhausted that I fall asleep.

  10. I love the feeling of Prince Charming snuggling into me at night. there is no more loved, safe feeling in the world.

  11. Prince Charming is working really hard at his course in school. He is doing really really well and I am so proud of him.

  12. I am in the best shape I have ever been in my life and I feel like I am only going to get better.

  13. I have a lot of freinds in cyber land that support and talk to me and give me advice when I need it.

Mommy Instincts

Well my mommy instincts yesterday were that she was fine, that she had a cold that was just hanging around and around. But there was this nagging doubt, what if I was ignoring something important. I was giving her cold medication and keeping her comfortable and happy as best I could but when she started to complain her head was hurting we packed her up and took her to the doctor's office. She had tests, x-rays of her chest, the whole nine yards. And the verdict is . . . . she has a cold. A viral infection actually but the results are the same. My mommy instincts were right and she was fine and time will take care of it. But I am glad that I took her in. I can stop worrying that I am doing something wrong now.

With her little adventure and spending so much time taking care of her my little cleaning marathon did not happen. She is home today so I don't see it happening today either. I am doing a little at a time as best I can. The house is at least presentable, even if there is dust in all the corners and laundry to be done. Tomorrow she will be back at preschool and I will be back at the gym and then going to get groceries, so it will be a full day again so I doubt a lot of extra cleaning will be done. The way this is going, my fall cleaning is actually going to take me until spring to get done. Oh well thats the way it goes I guess.

Coughland Blues

My poor Little Princess has had a cold. Last night, she was up coughing half the night. I felt so bad for her and I kept giving her medication and comforting her. I figured that when she got up this morning, she would be grouchy and sick and I would keep her home. But this morning she was fine. She was up before I was and she hasn't coughed once. So, I sent her off to Preschool. I am heading out the gym and then coming home to do a really good cleaning of my house. I told Prince Charming I am going to do the kind of cleaning that you do when company is coming. I will have my shining like the top of the Chrysler Building! (Did you get that movie reference?)

When do you decide to take your little one to a doctor about a cold? Do you take them every time? Do you take them when it is persistent? Do you take them when it starts to sound bad? Do you take them when they keep getting them? She seems fine today no coughing at all, but I was wondering about taking her in. I know that starting preschool means that she will be getting more colds and she has been getting them consistently since she started. Should I be concerned? Would you be?

Sunday Sillies

Kitchen Slogans

A messy kitchen is a happy kitchen and this kitchen is delirious.

No husband has ever been shot while doing the dishes.

If we are what we eat, than I'm fast, cheap and easy.

A balanced diet is a cookie in each hand.

Thou shalt not weigh more than thy refrigerator.

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves for they shall never cease to be amused.

A clean house is a sign of a misspent life.

Help keep the kitchen clean - eat out.

You know the dinner is ready when the smoke alarm goes off.

Countless number of people have eaten in this kitchen and gone on to lead normal lives.

My next house will have no kitchen - just vending machines.

It isn't fair

I am heartbroken. A friend that I made in the cyberworld has lost her husband. I ache for her and her babies. I wish I could be there to help her. It isn't fair, her husband was only 40 years old and he simply fell and died.

He had a loving wife and two beautiful daughters. He was an extremely devoted, hard-working husband and father. His heart and soul belonged to music; playing, listening, and attending live performances. He believed in helping those less fortunate than himself. He gave the gift of his friendship to many people. He was gentle and he loved animals. He abhored bigotry in any form - racisim, homophobia, classism, etc. He was neat and organized and did laundry. He loved to read. He got a tattoo of his dog when she died. He was a good man, a good husband and a good father and it isn't fair.

I want to raise my fist and scream at the heavens. I want to be by her side and hug her babies. I want to help her take the next breath and the next and to help face the days to come. I want to wrap her and her little girls up in a bubble of love and ease her burden in some way. I want to take everything I know about her husband wrap it all up and give him back to her. I wish I could just erase the pain she is feeling. I want to do it all but I don't know what to do. I hurt so much for her and I feel so impotent.

What was the very last song you listened to?

"I'm not ready to make nice" by Dixie chicks.

What is one company/store/corporation you would recommend that people stay away from?

I don't think there are any places that I can think of that really don't like.

Salad
On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being highest, how much do you enjoy having your picture made?
I like it more and more as I lose weight. Right now I guess an 8 in the past a -2.

Main Course
Besides a bookmark, what is something you've used to keep your place in a book?
A photo id of my little princess. That way I got to see her smiling face everytime I opened my book.

Dessert
Name a food that you like that most people don't.
I love pickles, hot peppers, calamari, pretty much everthing.

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen Things TC has learned in the last year of blogging.
  1. Never say that this is the last move. Because if you are me, it probably isn't.
  2. Perfectly normal nice people being made to still for hours on end turn into completely wild savages when presented with a long table lined with coffee and muffins.
  3. Speaking to people in three different towns and and deciding that which ever one finds us a place to live is your new home is NOT a great way to pick a new place to live. It is only marginally better then darts on a map.
  4. No matter how similar things appear, in the mind of a child there can be vital difference between this yellow lovey and that yellow thing over there than looks just like it.
  5. Love can be different thing to different people. Some people need to be together all the time to be happy and others need to be apart. Some people need to agree most of the time and some need to have fantastic blowouts and then make up. Prince Charming makes me stronger. With him at my back, I can fight any battle. He used to bring me flowers every day, now there are less romantic gestures. Instead, he is my Prince Charming, he stands in guard front of me and our daughter and protects us from the world. When I am upset, his arms around me makes it all more bearable. I am so proud of the person he is.
  6. Losing your computers hard drives SUCKS! A LOT!
  7. I have moved twice in the last year. That should be illegal. Anyone considering moving twice in one year should get a free ride to the mental institution, they will need it.
  8. The first day of Day Care will be much harder on me than it is on her.
  9. A Little Princess woken up from an impromptu naps to cuddles and popcorn is a happy Little Princess
  10. There are little gremlins in my house that come out when I am not looking and play tricks. I know they do, they put dishes in my sink, laundry in every available corner of the house, stomp all over my floors, and leave fingerprints on every flat surface they can find.
  11. Nothing is quite as cute as Little Princess going to see Cars in the theatre and being so small of butt that the chair folds up with her in it and she likes it that way and falls asleep with her cheek rested on the bottom of her foot.
  12. Taking a picture of a four year old is soooo much harder than taking a picture of a baby. She has places to go and things to do and no desire to sit still for more than three seconds.
  13. Blogging introduces you to some pretty great people! Happy Blogiversary guys!

My Blogiversary--Thank You for Sharing My journey

It's my blogiversary! As of this week, I have been blogging here at After The Glass Slipper for a year!

Wow time has flown. I have made a lot of friends that have welcomed me into their lives every day and I am so grateful for that.

Over the course of the year, I think a lot has changed. The tone of my blog varies depending on my mood and what is going on in my life. I can be pretty funny (I think) when I am in the mood and bad things happening sometimes sets me to laughing. When my coffee perk goes beserk, when my computer fritzes out, or when I totally humiliate myself in public, I sometimes feel it is so bad it is funny. I did a lot more of that in the past. I would like to get back to that again.

Throughout the course of the year you have shared a lot of moments with me. I shared Prince Charming's obsession with the remote. Which by the way is going full strength to this day.

I also gave you a glimpse of my darker sides. PMS Cinderella made an appearance, and I know it wasn't pretty. I rejoiced in my life, complained about it, felt sad for Prince Charming and tried to duel a computer. I wondered about what my 17 year old self would think of me now.

I shared my fears, and Little Princess's, and my thoughts on marriage and what love is, some funny antics from Little Princess, as well of some secrets from my past. We discussed Body image, and my war with my inner inner fat chick.

In the last year, I have moved twice, Little Princess has started Day Care and I have lost 61 lbs. And through it all, you were there. I shared my life and its soundtrack with you and you were kind enough to take the journey with me. So thank you my dear Blog friends. It has been wonderful taking this journey with you.

Not What I Expected

I always thought I would be one of those madonnaesque painting type moms smiling lovingingly while children play adoringly around my feet clinging to my skirts while I am peaceful and happy. I never expected to get frustrated. I have so much love to give, I thought that would be enough to make everything else fall into place. I never thought there would be days when I was thrilled that the screaming alien who has possessed my child has finally given up the fight and fallen asleep out of exhaustion from the drama of fighting once again to be able to eat popcorn for supper instead of something hideously healthy like spaghetti or some other such dreadful concoction. I thought it would be easy. I truly did. I never thought I would be the one sitting outside her door crying while she throws a temper tantrum on the other side.

Don't get me wrong, this doesn't happen often. And, maybe that is why it is so hard. She is such a happy easy going kid that when for some reason all that goes out the window and she turns into a 4 year old demanding alien child, I am thrown for a loop. I feel like I have no tools to deal with that and simply loving her out of it doesn't work. They were wrong, when they told me love was enough. Sometimes as a mom, love is the only tool I have, and it doesn't feel like enough.

On a happier note, there are other days. Better Days. Days that come far more often than the ones I discussed here. There are the days that she comes home from preschool thrilled to see me, showing off the results of all her hard work. There are days we cuddle together and watch Blues Clues and read stories or just cuddle on her bed, and there is simply the feeling of her holding my hand. Those are the days that make those other more rare days worth surviving.

on a funny little note: the day care teacher told me that when Little Princess doesn't want to do any more letters and numbers she tells her that the pencil is tired. LOL

Carnival of Family Life, Interview and other cool news!

This is really cool. For the second time, I have had people come to my blogs and ask my permission to talk about me on theirs. The first time was on here at After the Glass Slipper. I had a post about the expectations we have on our husbands. And someone had emailed Andrew McAllister, Ph.D. and asked him if he would write a response to my post. I love that. I think it is really cool.

Here is my post: Reminders
And here is his response: Dr. Andrew McAllister

And today, I am a part of the Carnival of Family Life. Its posted at Snapshot . Go on over and check it out if you like. It is a lot of fun.

All About Little Princess

It is a rainy drizzly Monday morning. Prince Charming is off to school and Little Princess and I are waiting for her bus to go to preschool. This is her first day of actual classes and I hope she enjoys herself.

I am thrilled that she finally fits into size 4 pants. She has such a tiny little waist that I have troubles getting clothes that fit her waist and also fit the fact that she has model length legs. I swear my girl is going to be a supermodel. Have you seen those eyes lately?

Also, on a similar line of thought. I love dressing her up. I love getting her up in the morning and putting on matching pants, shirt, socks, and hair band. I love how cute she looks with her little backpack on ready to face the world. It is fun to dress her all matchy matchey. some days we even match each other. She gets a huge kick out of that. Am I hopelessly hokey now? I know I have turned into *that mom*. But I truly don't care that she comes home filthy every day from day care. I don't care that her hair is falling out and her clothes are a mess. She had fun and I can tell by the state of her attire. I just love sending her off looking adorable.

My child has no concept of hiding her guilt over things. She is such a riot because when she has done something wrong upstairs, she comes charging down the stairs to me, calling out as she goes, "Mommy? . . . . Don't see what I did okay?" She proceeds to tell me exactly where not to look to not find what she did. LOL! I hope this attribute never goes away. It makes finding her out so much easier!

Is it ever really done?

Now that I have learned to tweak my html code and do new things, I just keep wanting to improve it. I had so much fun doing my blogs and changing them. I am really proud of the finished products and they are all different. I have my weight loss blog, my blog that I share with Notsosnowwhite where we keep up with each other and this one, my blog about me, my life, my family and my thoughts. And I have done code for them all. The one I did with Notsosnowwhite is the best I think but I really do love them all.

But the thing is, as I learn new things, I want to go back and add it to my other blogs. I can see it now, this will be a never ending venture where new things are constantly being added. I will 103 and learn something new and think, "OH, I have to go add that code to my blog too!" Someone please stop me. LOL. I am like an artist never completely satisfied with the finished product.

Saturday Photo Hunt--Food

I just so happens that this is a good week to have this as a theme for the Saturday Photo Hunt. We had a medieval feast last week and here is a picture of the layout. You can't tell by looking but it was yummy! I slaved for hours over a hot stove all day and then we dressed up, took pictures, and watched a movie based in that time period and ate our feast. It was a fun evening.

Renovations are afoot!

I have been busy sweeping out the corners of my blog making it look all pretty and new and shiny. What do you think? Do you like all the changes I made? I had fun doing it and I learned all kinds of stuff. I love to learn new things by tackling a project like this.

So this is it, Twisted Cinderella's new home. Bye-bye to the Pink Palace and hello to a peaceful blue ice castle.

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen Reasons TC is thinking about
  1. Notsosnowwhite has gone home and I haven't talked to her all day. I miss her like crazy and I am thinking about her wondering how things are going back home.
  2. Apparently Little Princess has a school supply list I need to fill for preschool. Who knew that you had to get supplies for preschool??
  3. It was quiet in the house today when Prince Charming left for school but he was only gone less than an hour apparently there was registration and things and no actual classes. It is the same tomorrow.
  4. In the last two days, I have washed the floors of the entire house, done several loads of laundry, scrubbed down my kitchen and my living room, and cleaned up Little Princess's room. I am feeling very productive.
  5. I went shopping today and the store didn't have half of the things I was looking for. I was very frustrated.
  6. Prince Charming was exhausted from getting up early for school and was in bed by 9:30, Little Princess was asleep by 8:30 and I am up alone with the computer.
  7. I bought a couple of casseroles for Prince Charming's suppers as a treat. One was a Presidents Choice Mexican Strata that I cooked today that he really liked. they were on sale and it ended up being cheaper than buying the ingredients to cook him something. I figured he would probably like a break from my cooking anyway.
  8. I have gotten back to scrapbooking again. I am so pleased. It makes me feel good to see the finished results

  12. I love that the girls on Big Brother figured Will and Boogie out! That was awesome. That was the best episode ever!
  13. Prince Charming (whom I sucked into watching this by showing him Will's antics) says that he would have been pissed at the girls. I told him they only did what chilltown did to all the other houseguests. But I do hope that Janelle and Will are friends after. They were cute.

Dear Daughter,

I want so much for you that sometimes it scares me that I may not be able to give it to you. I want you to be brave and strong but also kind and gentle. I want you to be happy and I want the whole world to love you and see you for the amazing, funny person I see when I look into your eyes.

You are as changing as the winds, and with each new face, I am awestruck once again by the wonder that is you.

I feel like I have been given this huge trust and I am afraid I won't be able to handle it properly. You are such a fragile, impressionable, moldable, stubborn, gutsy, brave, funny, intelligent little person, you can do anything, become anything you want to be.

I want to be the one who lights the stars to guide you on your way and I am afraid that in my nervousness,my anxiety, my need to do this right, I will hold you back in some way. I am afraid that one day when I am tired and frustrated and you have whined one too many times that you want chocolate pudding for breakfast, I will say or do some little thing wrong.

I hate to see you outside on the step sad because you are all alone, I hate to see someone give another little child loving attention while ignoring your excited little gaze. I want them all to love you. I want you to feel the sunshine of the world's approval.

I feel like I have this amazing treasure on the tips of my fingers and with one little stumble, I could break it.

So someday, when you are grown and you remember your childhood, I would like you to remember one thing most of all, above all things you were loved and accepted for who you are. I am proud of you now and always.

Love, Mommy

'Crocodile Hunter' is dead

How sad that is. I mean, I always thought he was a little nuts chasing after these wild animals. But he had an air of invincibility about him. It always seemed that no matter what he did, or what bit him, he would survive because he was just that tough. We were laughing yesterday at his attitude about poisonious things yesterday, his idea that everything would be fine if he could just "poke it with a stick".

His wife doesn't even know yet. How sad is it that the whole world knows, but she was unavailable. I would be heartbroken. I have seen so many times on the show the kind of man he was. How much he loved his wife Terri and his kids. How much he loved and wanted to protect the animals of Australia. He was a good man with a dangerous job and it sad to see him die at the age of 44.

In other news, on the home front, Prince Charming said something nice yesterday. I was saying that I kinda felt like I should go back to work again so that I can contribute to the house, he said that I take care of things right now more than he does. He said that while he is taking care of our future (by going to school to better himself) I am taking care of our present (by taking care of our house, our bills, our daughter, groceries, etc.) What a sweet thing to say. He said that right now he feels like I contribute more than he does. And when he said that, I told him that if I am taking care of the now and he is taking care of the later than both contributions are equally important. But I love that he appreciates me.

My best friend leaves tomorrow at the crack of dawn to go back home. I will miss her but it has been fun. I took lots and lots of pics. The last two times we saw each other, we had almost no pics and I was determined that this time no matter what happened, I would take lots of pics. I want to have pics to look back and reminisce when she is home and I am wishing we could sit together and watch a movie and drink our coffee.

Six things for Sunday

  1. My friend, my husband and I had a medival dinner last night. We dressed up medival, we cooked medival type foods and had fun. It was silly and fun and we had a blast. We took lots of pics but they were on my friends camera so we have to wait for her to go home and download to share them
  2. I realized yesterday that I have lost 59 lbs! Wow! That is awesome I am so amazed. It makes all the little fluctuations unimportant.
  3. I love how much fun my friend has with my daughter. They are so cute and it is fun to see the delight they take in each other.
  4. Sunday is my favorite day of the week. I love to spend the day relaxing with my family. I have enough leftovers from yesterday I don't even need to cook today. Woohoo. This is going to be a nice day.
  5. I have officially watched too many scary movies. I was watching The Poseiden Adventure and as I watched them struggle through the boat to try to get out of it to be rescued. I kept expecting big ugly monster so be chasing them.
  6. I have decided to really get into Christmas Shopping this month. I am going to buy something every month from now until Christmas. I am a little worried because all my Christmas stuff got left behind when I moved. I was promised all my boxes would get sent up, but they tend forget to keep their promises. So I am going to operate under the assumption I am not getting it and start buying new stuff.
