So cute

I love how much my kids love each other. They are all best friends and it is so sweet.

Little Prince completely adores his sisters.  He gets excited when he sees them and has started calling them by name.  Well, he calls two of them by name.  Princess Magpie he calls by his name.  I guess he is with her so much he thinks I am calling her by his name and calling him by the name "Baby."  So cute!!!

It Took!

My little girls are finally starting to get it!  I have been trying for years to get them to understand that if they keep their room clean, it is easier than cleaning it up later.  Little jobs are easier than big ones.  They have  finally started to clean up after themselves.  I never tried hard enough to get this lesson across to Princess Belle, but I did manage to teach it to my little girls.  It is how I have always approached cleaning and makes my life easier.

Lovely

There is something lovely about waking up to the sounds of birds and crickets.  It is peaceful and calming.  I may not like bugs that bite us and the bears lingering around, but the ocean views are wonderful and the sounds of nature can't be beat.

Congratulations To Notsosnowwhite

My friend Notsosnowwhite got married to her white knight yesterday.  I am so happy for her.  She deserves a lifetime of happiness filled with love and good memories.

Morning

I love when it is time to get Little Prince up for the day.  He is always so sweet and happy.  We sing and play games and he just smiles, laughs, flaps, rocks, and makes all his happy sounds.  He really is the sweetest boy ever.  He makes my heart smile.

Wonderful

Prince Charming and I finally got a chance to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary.   We went to Yarmouth, we took in a movie, had dinner, and spent the night in hotel.  It was lovely.  We saw, "Crazy, Rich Asians". I LOVED that movie!!  The wedding scene was magical.  It was a great way to celebrate 17 years together.

Good

I am having a nice day home enjoying my babies.  After our little adventure, I just feel the need to be with them.  My boy is completely adorable, and my girls are loving the cheeseburgers I made for supper.  Overall, not a bad day.

Thankful

We had a scary evening the other day.  Little Prince gave us a scare.  And after two ER's and an ambulance trip to the city, he is fine (excited about the adventure) and mommy has more grey hair.  I am very thankful that my sweet boy is okay.

Creative supper ideas

It is hard to make a meal that pleases every member of my big family, but I have a system that works for a lot of my meals.  I do a lot of buffet style DIY bar meals.  The kids love that they can make each plate the way they want and everyone gets the meal they like.

Funny

It is a cool rainy day and I love it.  The little girls are thrilled.  They have been wearing sweaters, cuddling under blankets while watching movies, and drawing fall pictures.  LOL, I have never seen two girls so looking forward to Autumn.  And, I can't blame them.

This Guy

This kitty is the sweetest, most gentle cat ever.  He just sleeps, snuggles, and purrs.  He is just the cutest.

17 Years

This month I celebrate 17 years married to Prince Charming.  The time has gone by so fast, and I am lucky to be with this wonderful man.

Making it Happen

Now that I know where we are going to be, I am excited.  It will cost a little more and 5ake a little more time and planning, but it will be worth it.  I was torn between my heart and head, and in the end I decided to follow my heart but use my head to make it happen!!

Maybe

I think maybe we have come to a decision on where we want our house to be.  It won't be for months, maybe even a year but we have a general area if we can get a place there.  I really hope we can pull this all together.  I need to be near support for me and for my kids.  I can't do this all on my own here in the middle of nowhere without any neighbors at all except for the bears who occasionally visit our back step.

Yup, Big Baby . . That's Me

Apparently, living through a hurricane can have lasting effects.  We are having a HUGE thunderstorm and it makes me nervous.  When I hear the thunder, I flinch and my heart racea.  I just do not like storms!

Always

There is something special about Newfoundland.  It speaks to me in a way that reminds me that it will always be home.  I love the water, the mountains, and the salty sea air.  I guess no matter where I am, I will always be a Newfie girl.

Ouch!

I woke up with one of those blindingly painful headaches.  It is do hard to be productive on days like this.  But on the bright side, it is a beautiful, cool, sunny, summer day.  A day like today just makes everything a little better . . . even headaches.

Finally

It has finally cooled off!  I can breath and accomplish things without fainting from the heat!!!! I am so glad!

Regular!!

I never mentioned the experience I had the last time I went shopping for clothes.  I went straight to the section that I always shop in and picked out a couple of outfits in the smallest size in that section. When I tried them on they were too big.  Not just a little too big but giganticly, hugely too big.  All of them. I  had to go to the regular section and pick out some clothes!!!! It was awesome!

Finally!!

I have never been so glad to see a rain storm!  It has been raining off and on all day and I am thrilled!  I really hope it breaks this humidity and brings us back to regular, more tolerable summer weather!!!

I am Torn

There are lots of days that I feel torn.  I live Nova Scotia.  The weather is lovely (most of the time).  The views are spectacular.  People are so friendly.  But I am a Newfie girl at heart.  It calls to my soul. I miss Grandma Great, family and friends, and all things Newfoundland.  And now that we are planning to move at some point in the future, I am mixed up as to where we should be.

It's My Thing

I love to take pictures.  I love to play with the way my environment frames the subject.  I love you play with light.  I have found that other than taking pictures of my kids (which is my favorite hobby lol), I certain things catch my eye for pictures.  I love interesting trees, bridges, seagulls, sunsets, abandonned buildings, people walking away, and all things water (boats, docks, coasts etc.). I would love to have a good camera or lessons in photography, but for now, I will settle for cell phone snaps.

Trees are one of my absolute favorite and I am not sure why.  Here are a few of my more recent examples:

It is Natal Day here in town and we had fun.  It is SUPER-HOT but we braved it for fun anyway.
