New Addition!!!

I created a family photo album to share pics and to store older pics. That way family and friends who feel so inclined can pop over and view pics of us from the past and present any time they want to. The pics go back as far as when Prince Charming and I got together. I have added it to my nav-bar under the header at the top of the page.

The theme this week is Beautiful. Beautiful to me has many meanings. It is a daddy and his girls. It is the beauty of a sleeping baby, the beauty of a mother's love and the beauty of the love between sisters.

Friday Five

1. Princess Belle goes back to school a week from today. She will be going full days for the first time. I went out today and got her lunch and recess supplies.
   
2. I had a budget grocery day today. Those days kind of suck but I at least got most everything I need. I can't wait until I can afford to shop how I want too. I would love to go crazy buying all kinds of cute clothes for my girls. Wouldn't they be cute all dressed up alike.
   
3. I have stuck to my diet really closely. I am proud of how hard I am working. I weighed myself last night and I am down 10 lbs in two weeks!! woohoo!!
4. It is raining today. I heard it is supposed to be raining all weekend. Poor Princess Belle will be stuck inside all weekend. I am prepared for a long cabin-fever filled weekend.
5. Princess Belle and Prince Charming are giggling behind me playing contests. Princess Belle keeps changing the rules and the games trying to find one she can beat Prince Charming at. It is really funny.
   

Thursday Thirteen #61

Thirteen Things Twisted Cinderella has thought since having a new baby I have way more clothes for this age than Princess Mag-pie could possibly wear before she outgrows them. In this light, I am making an effort to not wear anything twice until she has gotten through them all. This makes no sense at all but it is a fun little project for me. Everything will take a lot longer, including blogging as I have stop in the middle of whatever I am doing to care for my girls. Housework is a lot more work than it used to be. I have had to learn to let go more and realize that spending time caring for my girls is so much more important than sweeping the floor right now. Kids grow waaaay to fast. In an effort to capture every moment I find myself taking LOTS of pics and cuddling so much more. I know how quickly they go from big gummy grins to losing their first teeth. In the blink of an eye my daughter went from dancing to elmo on Treehouse to watching Prank Patrol on YTV, from shopping in the baby section to shopping in the big girl section and I am just not ready for Princess Mag-pie to grow that fast. Getting Princess Belle to help is the best thing I could do. It may seem like I am being lazy in getting her to run and fetch things for the baby and I, but it makes her feel connected. In turn, she loves to kiss on and hold the baby. I have to let go, it is good for Princess Belle to be able to (under supervision) hold her sister. It is good for Prince Charming to find his way in dealing with the baby. Even though Princess Mag-pie and I seem to know our way, we need to let the others in the family find their way too. Don't get so busy taking care of things and your kids that you forget to connect with them. It is fine to be tired, but it takes no effort to look at your baby and talk to her while you are feeding her or take a few minutes to play tea with Princess Belle. Take time to get out of the house. I know that I tend to want to hibernate, even more so now as I am more tired than I used to be. There are so many things I want to imprint on my memory. The way that Princess Mag-pie lifts her chin and puffs out her cheeks as she stretches, the way she throws one and arm and foot like she is trying to fight when she is upset, and the way that she must grab a handful of my shirt when she cuddles me, or the little sound she makes when she yawns. Princess made up her first joke that made sense. She met Notsosnowwhite's boyfriend and used his name in the joke. It was a silly pun and it was cute. There is something nice about sitting up in the middle of the night and cuddling with your baby, both of you tired, but connecting in the silence as the rest of the world sleeps. It is special and I love it. It will take time to get back into my prepregnancy clothes and I need to have patience. I am working hard and I will get there. I just need to be patient. I was a LOT more scared in the beginning of my c-section than I thought I would be. I was laying there in terror of all the things that could go wrong, scared of the unknown. But it went well. I healed fast. I would not be scared to have another. Certain things are invaluable. A good swaddling blanket. She is growing so fast I found myself scrambling last night to find a blanket that she still fit in while swaddled so that she would go to sleep. And while she is asleep, I need a quiet door I can open just to easy a paranoid mom's mind that she is indeed still breathing and okay.

Tackle It Tuesday

My Tackle this week attempting to continue to conquer my ever-growing mount laundry. I have a growing mound of laundry that is washed, dried and folded and my goal for today is to put it all away before I do any more laundry. (and just think of all the exercise I will get dragging it all up the stairs. LOL) Here is a before picture. Update: I have now posted my after pic as well.

I also tackled finally making my 6 week follow up appointment with my doctor. I have been putting it off and I have it done. Yay! Yay! Another big one was that I finally got Princess Mag-pie her very own MCP so that provincial health care will cover her and I renewed all of the family's at the same time. (Actually Prince Charming did the leg-work for me.) I am glad to have that taken care of. It is such a worry to wonder what we will do if someone gets sick and our MCP has run out.

Monday Menu Plan

This is my menu plan I tried to keep it as simple as possible. I am still doing well on my diet and so far it is going pretty well with mostly making the same meal for everyone with a carb-o-licious side dish for the rest of my family. Here is my plan for this week.

1. Monday: Chicken Parmesan
   
2. Tuesday: Pork Chops and Roasted Vegetables
3. Wednesday: Hamburger patties and sauteed vegetables.
   
4. Thursday: Mayonnaise Baked Chicken
5. Friday: BBQ Pork and Vegetables
   
6. Saturday: Crustless Pizza
7. Sunday: Chicken in Cream Cheese Sauce

Mayonnaise Baked Chicken

---

6 Breasts or whatever parts are your favourite.

1 Cup 0 Carb Mayonnaise
1 Tablespoon Garlic
1/4 Cup Parmesan Cheese
Salt & Pepper or whatever seasonings you like

Mix all above together in a separate bowl. Spread over chicken and bake at 375 degrees until done.

Chicken in Cream Cheese Sauce

---

1. Start with frozen chicken, this recipe is good with either breasts or thighs. Thaw until icy. Cooking them this way keeps them moist while cooking. Saute with a butter until golden brown.
2. Then add, a bit of 1/2 and 1/2, usually use enough to create light coating, say around 1/8 cup, not alot. Then add the cream cheese.. according to preference. While stirring, continue to cook over medium until 1/2 and 1/2 combine with cheese to make a light sauce.
3. I then put your favorite vegetable in a wide soup bowl and then place chicken on top or next to vegetable and pour sauce over the top. Eat with fork and spoon!!!

Sleepy Sunday

I am feeling particularly sleepy today. I am not sure why but I am. I just don't have the energy to get out of my own way. Ugh, I hate days like this. And I don't look nearly as cute as Princess Mag-pie does in the pic above when I yawn.

I have to get up and start supper soon, and I should be launching further attacks on Mount Laundry but truth be told, I just don't have it in me.

One Month Old-yesterday!

My Princess Mag-pie turned one month old yesterday. It is so hard to believe that so much time has gone by already. She is truly a wonderful baby, I couldn't ask for an easier, more pleasant child. As she snuggles down into my arms and sighs and then smiles in her sleep, I feel my heart could get no more full. Princess Belle hears her cry and then sings to her and Princess Mag-pie will stop crying and watches her big sister intently. Just one month old and she hold my heart in the her tiny little hand. I watch her sleep and I know I could get no happier then just right now.

Tackle It Tuesday

My Tackle this week attempting to conquer my ever-growing mount laundry. It is the one area I haven't been able to get under control since being in the hospital for 3 weeks. I will get is under control a little at a time but it would be easier if I could just convince everyone is my house to stop making more.

Monday Menu Plan

This is my menu plan I tried to keep it as simple as possible. I officially started my diet on Saturday as it makes sense to start the day after I get paid. Here is my plan for this week. I plan to make low carb recipes for everyone and then add a carb side-dish for Prince Charming and Princess. (such as french fries or rice)

1. Monday: Pork Chops and Roasted Vegetables
   
2. Tuesday: Smothered Chicken
   
3. Wednesday: White Castle Hamburger Pie
   
4. Thursday: Pork Chops
   
5. Friday: Mexicalli Ground Beef and Cabbage Pie
   
6. Saturday: Korean Chicken
7. Sunday: Crustless Pizza
   

Sleepy Sunday

Today is a sleepy day for me. Princess Mag-pie wasn't too bad last night but Princess Belle had a ROUGH night. She peed her bed not once but TWICE!!!! Who does that at SIX YEARS OLD???? She woke up with pains in her legs. She just kept waking up crying for attention. I am a zombie mommy today and she is just fine. My head is just pounding.

But given the fact that I started my diet yesterday, I don't feel bad. I feel really full all the time and I am so glad to be getting this weight back under control. I know I will get back down to my best weight again. I can do this.

Princess Mag-pie appears to have a snuffly nose. I have had a miserable cold for a few days and she spends a lot of time in my arms, so I am not surprised that she has some symptoms. I hope that she doesn't get it like I did.

The theme this week is Colorful. I had to think about this one and then while looking at some pics I have taken lately, I came across this one. It isn't my favorite but it certainly is colorful!

Friday Five

1. I still have cold and I am praying that I don't pass it along to Princess Mag-pie. Your shouldn't have to deal with a cold at 3 1/2 weeks old.
2. Yesterday was our anniversary. We actually forgot for most of the day and I feel bad about that. I am going to be getting groceries today and I will pick up a little belated something for Prince Charming. He is the love of my life and he deserves to know how important he is to me.
   
3. I had a little photoshoot with Princess Mag-pie yesterday. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the pics. Some of my favorite pics of her EVER are in there. I will definitely be printing one or two of those off.
   
4. I am getting groceries today and I am shopping to suit my new diet. I am looking forward to feeling like I have my diet under control.
   
5. I might sneak a little money to buy a new set of scales. I don't have any scales right now, Princess Belle broke my older ones.
