Getting Creative

I was inspired by a blue background yesterday to re-do my blog in a nice blue color.  I LIKED the results! The header contains pictures of my kids and I haven't had one like that for a while:

Then this morning when I got up, I was surfing my Facebook feeds with my morning coffee and I decided to get creative with my update to my Facebook profile.  So created this as a cover page:

And for a change, I created this for my profile pic:

I LOVE how it all looks and it is so just so me!

Oh they look so good!

I finally got the calendars I made!  I LOVE how they look.  I would love to do this every  year.  It would be like having a yearbook with monthly pics of my kids every year.  I am thinking I could get a headstart for next year by preparing layout a month until the end of the year, then all I would have to do is send away for it and have one for next time.

I do know  a couple of things I will do differently next time, but overall, I am so glad I did this!

Creativity and Storage

I thought I would post some layouts I did of my three youngest sprouts.  I wish I had a digital camera back when I had Lilly.  I would love to be able to post hers to compare.

This is Rose

This is Lotus

And this is Reed

I also thought I would post some more storage ideas I had for after my move.

I like the idea of under shelf baskets for storage for things like bread.  I actually have some of these that I can make better use of.

There is a small linen closet in the new place I love the ideas in this  pic for making the best use of space and keeping it organized.

I love the idea of a using a shirt to make a holder for clothespins and using a tension bar for cleaners and then baskets for soaps, sponges, and such.

Just an ooky kind of day

This has been one of those days where one child or the other has me dealing with bodily functions all day long. It has been ooky oooky with more rags and buckets that I care to think about. I have children who like to get nekkid and and children who are apparently afraid the potty is going to bite their bottoms if they use it so they hide in the closet instead. Fun Fun Fun

Comparisons and a Request

Here is a scrapbook layout I did of Princess Snifflefritz and one I did of Princess Magpie at the same age. It is fun to look at them and see their similarities and their differences.

On the homefront, not too much has changed. Still working on my secret project. I am having a problem with Princess Magpie that I would love to ask your advice. At night, when they are in their beds, she has taken to biting her baby sister. I haven't caught her in the act, but I have seen the evidence. Poor little Princess Snifflefritz is such a gentle soul, I hate to see that happen to her and Princess Magpie is only 3 years old and has limited language abilities. I can't make her understand what she is in trouble for if I don't catch her in the act. Advice??

Scrapbook Layouts

I realized yesterday that I hadn't finished my project of scrapbooking Princess Snifflefritz's first year of life as I did for Princess Magpie. So, I started back up at it again. Here are my two latest additions.

Scrapbook Layout

I did this scrapbook layout. I like the pics and the sentiment, but I think when I have more time, I will do a better layout for it.

Sunday Sum-up

I have decided to get working on some scrapbook layouts in my spare time. I want to do one for every month of Princess Snifflefritz's first year of life (The same as I did for Princess Magpie). It will be a nice way to de-stress.

I am really longing for Spring to come now. I have enough of being cooped up all day every day with the girls, we need to get out and enjoy parks and outside again. It doesn't help that I don't remember the last time I got a full night's sleep. I think it was about 14 or 15 months ago before Princess Snifflefritz was born. These days the girls take turns tag-teaming me to keep me up at night and still get me up at 6 or 7 in the morning and I am chronically sleep-deprived. And they love to get into trouble. The minute I turn my back on them, they have either destroyed something, broken something, taken something they shouldn't have, or someone has made someone cry. So, if my girls are awake, I am with them, watching over them, loving them and keeping them out of trouble. I love me girls but I would be better equipped to spend 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with them, if I could do it on a full night's sleep. Today, Prince Charming (God Bless his soul) saw that I was losing it and took over care of the girls so I could get a nap and a shower. It is amazing how much difference having a chance to just de-stress and get a shower can make.

I am making Lazy Cabbage Rolls and Cornbread for supper.

Lazy Cabbage Rolls

* Pour about a fourth of the sauce on the cabbage.
* Saute onions and brown the ground beef.
* Mix beef ,onions, spices, rice and another fourth of the sauce and place on the cabbage.
* Top with the rest of the cabbage, and pour on the rest of the sauce.
* Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

Cornbread

Bits and parts

Today I was feeling sappy about the every day things I get to enjoy with my kids. I was driving them crazy taking random pics of them doing every day things. I was especially inspired by the all adorable bits about Princess Sleeps-a-lot from her tiny toes to her long eyelashes and her hairy little ears. She is just so cute and tiny that I had to scrap the pics I took.

24 Weeks (6 months) and Scrabooking Layouts

I am 6 months pregnant now. I am feeling pretty good. I mean, I have the normal pregnancy stuff, my back and me knees are sore, but I am coming to a routine regarding homeschooling, taking care of Princess Magpie and taking care of the house. My belly is getting huge as you can tell in the pregnancy layout above (that one pregnancy pic was taking today). I am feeling lots of movement now and I LOVE every minute of it.

Fetal development - 24 weeks pregnant

Your fetus weighs more than 1.3 pounds/ 600 grams. Though she still has little body fat and her skin is thin and fragile, she's now well-proportioned. Her brain is growing rapidly, and she is starting to fill the space in your uterus. From crown to heel she could measure 11.8 inches / 30 centimetres. If you went into labour at this time, however, many obstetricians and midwives would make every effort to halt the progress of premature labour to enable your baby to continue maturing.

You may be noticing faint, red or brown streaks known as striae or stretch marks on your abdomen, hips and breasts. While creams won't erase them, wearing a supportive bra may help prevent or minimize them on your breasts. They are very common at this stage of the pregnancy -- about 90 per cent of women get them. After you've given birth, the reddish or brown pigmentation in the stretch marks gradually fades, and the streaks become lighter than the surrounding skin.

Also, your eyes may be light-sensitive and may feel gritty and dry. This is a perfectly normal pregnancy symptom known as 'dry-eye'. To ease your discomfort, use an "artificial tears" solution to add moisture.
