Gratitude Sunday
Here are some things I am grateful for this week:
1. Silly moments with my babies
2. Sweet moments between my girls
3. Watching my boy look out the window in fascination.
4. Using all my new red Tupperware spice containers and the wonderful red bowls! I LOVE it!
5. This sweet girl for always being ready to help with her siblings and for being fun to spend time with! LOVE this girl!
6. The fact that while all around us people are suffering through snow storms, we have escaped with merely the occasional rain or hail with no snow staying on the ground!

Throwback Thursday
I went back to late June 2010 for my Throwback Thursday Post today. Little Prince wasn't even born yet and Princess Snifflefritz was the adorable baby of our family. Princess Belle was a sweet big sister and Princess Magpie was the cutest little toddler you ever did see!

A Little Sad
As I was riding the bus yesterday, I looked out the window at this city that we have made our home. I was remembering the way it was when I fell in love with Prince Charming 14 years ago. It felt so shiny and new. While I am aware that part of it was because I was in love and the whole world was wonderful, there were tangible changes that are plain to see.
There are areas of this lovely city that used to be so full of history and striking architecture. And while even in the older areas of town, the architecture is technically still there, some of it is masked by urban decay. It is spoiled by vandalism and broken, boarded windows. It is hidden behind an air of poverty, sadness, hopelessness, and indifference.
I walk by the old bookstores we used to love to wander through that are now abandoned and I wonder if I could peak in behind the boards in the windows, would I see the walls still lined with the thousands book spines that had been attached to them in the stores previous life. I wonder what became of the thousands of books that were like a cluttered treasure hunt, with so many wonders there to discover.
As I walk by the former cute little vegan cafe, with it's darkened windows and it's graffiti covered doors, I wonder if the owners have moved to another location or whether they gave up their dream as so many of the people sitting on the sidewalk with downcast eyes seem to have done. It is simply so sad to me.
I LOVE history. I love to learn about the story of the neighborhoods, and while there are parts of the city that are taken care of and are still rich in historical beauty, it seems so many places are just fading away, historical wonders simply lost in the race to move on to something new and wonderful.

The View
I have certain pictures that I like. I take variations of them again and again. One of those pictures is the sight of my kids in the window. I don't know why, but I like how it looks, the framing, the lighting, the subject, everything. Now pictures with Little Prince are harder. He is constantly in motion, rocking so pictures of him tend to be a little blurry. (Prince Charming jokes it isn't the pictures, he is just a blurry child LOL) But even with those limitations, here are some I took this month and some I took today.
Three Nights
Three nights in a row Little Prince has woken up hysterical. I don't know why he is waking up and I wish I could fix it for him. The only good thing is that it is getting easier to make him feel better and to distract him from his troubles. On the other hand, I feel like I am an extra on "The Walking Dead" or some other Zombie movie. I am so tired, I am stumbling around, blindly reaching for more caffeine and yawning until my eyes water. SOOOO TIRED!

Gratitude Sunday
Here are some things I am grateful for this week:
1. Quiet moments with this little man, catching his beautiful eyes on camera
2. This sweet girl who wants to spend all her time with her mommy. I am so lucky to be so loved.
3. Sisters who adore each other. Little girls who look up to their big sister, and a big sister who is sweet to her little sisters.
4. This quiet moment when Princess Magpie is looking down at her sleeping little sister, Princess Snifflefritz.
5. Princess Belle taking advantage of her limited computer time to show stuff to her little sisters.
6. The colors of fall
7. Princess Magpie spontaneously starting a yoga class to 'teach' it to her sisters.
9. Catching a half a smile from Little Prince on camera
