There are days, when I am amazed by my daughter. She turns around and does something that convinces me that yes indeed she is a certifiable genius and Mensa will be calling for her any day. She has taken to drawing. She loves it. She will draw things and bring them over and show them to me and tell me what they are. Now up until recently, they have been only variously colored scribbles. Just colors on a page. But lately she concentrates really hard and she is so industrious in her "work". And she is turning out recognizable objects. She decided to "write" and turned out letters that I could recognize. Now they didn't spell anything, but there are actual letters!!! And then she drew a sun. It was a blue sun colored in orange. But I could tell that is what it was! It was very obviously a sun and she didn't have to tell you that for you to know it! Okay so my 3 1/2 year old daughter is genius, right?
Okay so maybe I am a little biased on the genius part but I am as proud as proud can be of ever picture she brings me! I love to get them, I love when she shows me her pictures of pickles, lights, and mommy and daddy ducks.

That is the sweetest thing ever! She sounds like she is learning fast... it's so cool to watch your kids when they "get" something.. that won't change for you... You can look forward to being amazed by her for a very long time to come!
I still love getting drawn pictures by all 3 of my kids. The youngest loves to fill the refrigerator door with her art. My son draws more pencil drawings now a days, mostly things having to do with video games (rolls eyes...heheheh), and my teenager is a wonderful artist. She's done all kinds of drawings and paintings. Lately she has been very interested in drawing people... and she's great at it!
It amazes me what they learn...it really does. Just yesterday I gave her a cracker and she said "ake you". And yes I say thank you to her, but I always wonder how do they put 2 and 2 together and figure out what to do in the right situation. Your princess does sound like a genius! :)
They pick up on everything don't they? Let those creative juices flow...She's gonna be a smarty when it comes to school!

Of course she is a genius. She isn't old enough to be stupid yet. Enjoy the brilliance while it lasts. I'm convinced children relinquish thier intelligence around 13 years and stay in a stupor until their 17 to 25 depending on the child.
Of course you can't share that opinion. My mother doesn't. My wife doesn't. But my Dad knows what I'm talking about. I'll bet Prince Charming does too.
Man am I going to be in trouble if my teenagers read this.
Children can be quite fascinating! I told my 6yo son that his pants were getting too short, and he very pointedly said, "No they are not. I am getting too tall!!" Both of mine catch me off guard at least twice a day.
