More Homeschool Organization

I have been using a bakers rack as a place to store our currently being used homeschool supplies (other than the craft supplies I have on my two little shelves.)

Well I was so inspired by my craft supply organization that I decided to organize this rack as well. I just worked with containers I have for now.

So the first picture shows:

  • A basket for staples, paper clips, alligator clips, and sticky tac.
  • A basket for math blocks
  • A magazine holder for empty files
  • A old dish rack to hold and sort their homeschool books
  • Book ends to hold partly used notebooks
  • A pink basket holding new packs of crayons and sidewalk chalk
  • Two little drawers.  One with new pencils and one with new erasers (I have enough erasers for a lifetime)
  • A pencil shaped electric pencil sharpener
  • A couple of sheets of cardstock

This second picture isn't as  nice but it shows:

  • A container for the artwork they want to save
  • A container full of opened crayons
  • All our lined paper
  • All our Hilroy notebooks
  • All our coil notebooks
  • And underneath diapers and wipes for Little Prince

Gratitude Sunday

Gratitude Sunday
Sunday's heart felt tradition. A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful.

Having a rough day so it is s perfect time for this.  Here are some things I sm grateful for this week:

1.  Snuggly sweetness

2.  Smiling sisters.

3.  Being able to  settle my boy when he is in the middle of an autistic meltdown (even if it means staying up most of the night.)

4.  Sunlit solitude.

5.  Sibling togetherness.

6.  Block towers.

7.  Quiet moments

8.  Dress Up fun.

9.  Getting our homeschool craft supplies all together in one place and organized.

10.  Silly girl posing for pictures.

11.  Silly girls

Oh No!!

I got a call from my brother that my mom is in the hospital with blood clots in her lungs!  My dad is at home dealing with his heart issues and now my mom is in the hospital!  So scary!

And the results are . . .

So I have all the crafting supplies organized and sorted.  It looks great but I think I may want to add to it over time.

Here is what I have done:

The girls were thrilled with it!  They loved the pink, as I expected LOL.

And here are the kids books.  I am so glad that they will contained instead of being in teetering piles.

Organising Our Homeschool

I had a  busy day of laundry, rearranging furniture and shopping.

My day started with an attack on mount laundry.  And then after cleaning the kitchen, I rearranged the living room and classroom.  I wanted an area to keep crafting supplies since I like to do a lot of crafts with the kids over December.  After everything was set up, I went out to get some containers to store the craft supplies in.  The store didn't have red or white containers so I picked out pink ones (I figure it is the girls' favorite color)  I also bought containers for the kids books shelves.  I can't wait to get at setting everything up tomorrow.

The girls have noticed that I am dressing nice and putting on make-up before I out.  They tell me I look like a princess.

Amazing Day

We had an amazing day today.  It was simple but wonderful.  I bought a few more groceries and then came home and spent some time enjoying the kids.  Little Prince is feeling better so he is more content and he only woke up once last night.  He and the girls had fun playing together and watching shows.  It was fun to see them just being silly together.  (I also found out I may be able to buy a van next month!)

Better?

Little Prince seems to be feeling a little better today. I am so happy. He hasn't cried yet today. I hope he doesn't and that he has a peaceful night, but even if he wakes up and keeps me up again tonight, I can take it as long as he is happy. I hate how miserable he has been the last few days. (note:  while I was typing this he woke up and wanted to come down but he is in a MUCH better mood!I love my happy boy!)

On another note, I went Christmas shopping today. I bought three presents for each kid. The presents were perfect and a can't wait to see their faces on Christmas morning.

Poor Little Guy

Poor Little Prince is having a rough night again today.   He was inconsolable until I tried giving him a bath and that seemed to help.  I did notice that his upper lip seems to be a little swollen, so maybe that's what is bothering him.  He was super cute in the bath though.  He splashed and giggled.  He played in there happily until he got cold.  Then we went downstairs to get him a snack and watch Sesame Street.  I hope he is better for the night.  I really hope this is not a repeat of last night.

Baking and Meltdowns

I had a busy day today making three pumpkin pies, pumpkin rice pudding as well as some dairy free crustless pumpkin pie squares.  The house smells so good!  The girls were so excited to try everything.

Now this evening Little Prince is having a meltdown and I don't know why.  I am trying everything to help him and he is hysterical.  And Prince Charming went upstairs to our room until Little Prince is settled and back in bed so I am alone with Little Prince in his upset.

Okay . . . some time has passed and apparently snacks in his stroller while watching Sesame Street was what it took to settle him down.  Now I want to cry I swear it leaves me with post traumatic stress when he loses it like that.  I love him so much and I just want to make him feel better.

Update:   Oh No! . . . he is melting down again.

Update #2:  It's 1am and he is still up and upset.  There is no sign of this night ending soon.

Update #3:  He finally settled down at 2:15 in the morning!  I am soooo tired.

Gratitude Sunday
Sunday's heart felt tradition. A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful.

I am feeling very grateful this week.

1.  Replacement glasses that look different and cool

2.  Toy parades all set up by size

3.  Flocks of ducks wandering through town.

4.  Getting a funky new haircut that makes me feel good.

5.  Finding a hair salon that has a fun, friendly atmosphere and where the stylist was really meticulous and careful.

6.  Getting a new store in town with fun things like pillows that look like wood.

7.  Getting lots of autism therapies set up for my boy.

Saturday Photohunt - Speedy

The theme for the photo hunt this week is SPEEDY.  The first thing I thought of is Little Prince and how is always speedy, rocking and flapping and always moving.  This means that most of my pictures of him come out cute but blurry.

New Haircut - Big Change

I went out this morning and got my hair cut.  I got an undercut pixie cut where the sides and back are shaved really short.  I also had it colored in a platinum blonde color.  I really like the change.  I feel like a new person!
