Funny Thing
There is something about a bright sunny day that makes you smile, isn't there. I am always in a better mood when the sun is out. Even when I am sick, like I am now, I feel better being out in the sun.
On a side note, I have had some nice comments on my appearance the last couple of days that made me smile too. The clerk in a store told me she thought I was a fun person by the way I was dressed. And, the clerk in the bank had to look twice at my ID before she realized it was me. She smiled and told me I had changed. It was nice.
I laughed after and told Prince Charming that I must be going through a mid-life crisis. But the kind of crisis where you feel good. I feel good so I got a funky new haircut. I feel good so I got some funky new pants. I look good so Prince Charming got me a cool new coat. I am almost 44 years old and I can honestly say I have never felt this young and good (current cold excepted of course LOL)

Gratitude Sunday
Sundays heart felt tradition. A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful.
Here are some things I am grateful for this week.
1. Having a high chair that actually fits Little Prince properly.
2. Lovely sunny days on the dock with this handsome man.
3. Enjoying a lovely sunny day.
4. This sweet boy who is finally eating again now that we have a high chair that fits my big boy. Even if sometimes he falls asleep before he does so.
5. Rain storms instead of snow storms. It is lovely to see how much like it spring it feels outside.
6. This sweet girl who tried so hard to be helpful when everyone got sick before she did.
7. This funny boy who loves his high chair so much he wanted to use the tray for his snack.
8. Sunny days with my babies
9. New pants in a new smaller size! Feels awesome!
10. Looking at the boats by the dock. So pretty and reminding me of home.

Saturday Photohunt
The theme this week is 'LEAP'. This was easy for me, my kids are always leaping and jumping and running. The only challenge I had was to find one that wasn't blurry. The bonus was I found one that I had a gif of too! This was when the little girls and I were doing circle time outside before homeschool. It was so much fun!

Quarantine?
Sick Princess Magpie
Hello from the sick house! I ventured out of bed and out of the house to get food and milk for the kids. (Funny thing, they insist on eating, even when mommy is sick. Silly kids!) I did my best not to talk to anyone or to spread my germs so that I didn't infect any of the wonderful elderly people I saw in the store today! (I would feel so bad!)
Sick Mommy Twisted Cinderella
Now that I am home, I am main-lining herbal tea, binge-watching "Fuller House" on Netflix while the little girls lay on the couch and watch "Goldie and Bear". We are a pretty sad sight, I have to say. I feel like there should be a quarantine sign outside. But on the upside, you would be surprised how easy it is to stick to your budget getting groceries when you are miserable while you shop. I told Prince Charming next time he comes home with a cold, I am making him wear a face mask until he is all better so he doesn't infect the whole house!

Once again
We are a sick house once again. We are all coming down with a cold one by one. It is not fun and it sucks to be miserable when you have to be a grownup. But I did what I had to and ordered a pizza for the kids for supper.
Poor Princess Magpie wasn't herself today, she spent a lot of time in her daddy's chair. I am still not sure why she was sucking TWO thumbs when I don't usually see her sucking one.
The weather was as miserable as we felt. The rain was pouring so hard! It was crazy. But since other places are getting snow storms today, I really don't mind the rain so much.
Little Prince wasn't himself and spent most of the day in his jammies taking it easy and complaining over every little thing as a cranky prince is apt to do.
Princess Snifflefritz was sweet and tried so hard to be helpful because she doesn't have a cold yet and felt like that meant she should be the helper girl. Princess Magpie had to convince her that she only had a cold and didn't need that much help. So cute, these girls of mine.

So here's the thing. I love it here. I love the people I meet when I am out shopping. I love the small town feel with big town conveniences. I love knowing that deer and ducks wander our roads. I love drying clothes on the line, I love elderly neighbors who like my kids. I love winter storms that end in rain instead of more snow. There are so many things I love about living here. There is just one thing I miss sometimes . . . people. Sometimes I miss my friends in St. John's, Jefferey's, and Halifax, so much it actually hurts. I will be fine and then I will see a picture and it will bring me back to old times. To summer bbqs, fun in the park and sitting on the deck and chatting and I miss having people to do that with.
It is partly my fault. I have gotten so that it is hard to put myself out there and meet new people. I want so badly to make connections and get to know people (like the homeschoolers here). But at the last minute, I chicken out. My inner shy person sticks out her head and I stay at home with my kids. I need to get out of my own way and find a way to make connections because my family loves it here. Little Prince is doing amazing in therapy here. Prince Charming is content here and that is the first time he has felt like that in years. My need for friends can't come before all of that.
See most of the time, I love it here. But some days I miss connections. I miss old friends. I miss the old days and want to have days like that here.
Here are some pictures of places and friends that I miss.

Now and Then
Well it has been a very productive day! I managed to come up with a way to do homeschool even when Little Prince is being particularly difficult. He is so very cute and sweet and I want to find ways to make him happy as well as get things done and we have successfully accomplished that today! His mood even improved and funnily enough fell asleep halfway through is supper sandwich!
A friend from years ago in 2007 shared a couple of pictures today that really made me smile. They showed Princess Belle at five years old. She was on her first bike in one picture and playing at the park with my friend's son in the other. It took me back to being neighbors with her and how much I enjoyed their friendship.

Another One
The longer I live in this town, the more I love it here. Every week I am finding new and wonderful things and people to enjoy. Today I called a place here that has programs for kids. I wanted to ask if they had old high chairs there that they would be willing to trade for an almost brand new compact one. Old high chairs tend to be bigger and more suited to what I need for Little Prince. He is older than most kids who are in high chairs and so he is bigger. But given the fact that it is the only place I can get him to eat, I am going to have him in it for a while. They didn't have any but said they would ask the people who work there, post it on their message board, and ask the parents for me. And so I hung up thanking her for her help, hopeful that I was a little closer to finding what I need. I walked away from the phone, cleaned up the water Little Prince had spilled and went back to the phone to find a message that she had one for me! That quickly! And she didn't want the one I have already. (I am going to find a family to give it to.) I am so thrilled. She was so helpful and thoughtful! Definitely another example of the wonderful people I find here.

Gratitude Sunday
Sundays heart felt tradition. A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful.
Here are some things I am grateful for this week.
1. How much my girls like helping Little Prince, like Princess Magpie is helping with his speech here.
2. How often I find my girls snuggled up together.
3. Organizing all my healthy foods.
4. My new (to me) coat.
5. Silly dress-up.
6. My boy finally eating as much as he usually does.

Fun at a Fair (Grown-up Style)
I went to a health and wellness fair today. Prince Charming decided to come with me. I was actually really impressed with the wonderful vendors there and all the great information I got. I came home with some fabulous goodies that I can't wait to try and some numbers for people who may be able to help me in the future!
We stopped by a table where they were doing health checks and we both got our blood pressure checked. Mine was perfect. Yay me!!! Prince Charming's was alarmingly high!!! I told him that when Princess Belle gets started on her new healthy eat, learning about nutrition plan, I am putting him on a healthy eating plan too. I love him too much to have him have blood pressure that high. It was really scary and I bet if they had checked me afterwards, mine would have been high too.
All in all, I am so glad we went and so happy with the things that we learned and the people that we met. Afterwards, we hit the farmers market and got some wonderful local mushrooms! When we got home, I organized our fridges and freezers. This fridge is mostly filled with healthy foods and veggies which makes me so happy!
On a side-note, Little Prince has been in a really good mood today. I LOVE when he is happy and smiley!

Fabulous Friday
It was a busy shopping day for me today. It was one of those days when I had a bunch of places to go. I decided to take Little Prince with me since it seemed unfair to leave his cute little cranky butt home. He was so sweet. He actually asked for an apple by name!!! Of course, I bought him one! Since he didn't have the words, he moved my hand to muffins to let me know he wanted a muffin. I gave him one of those too. My boy is finally finding ways of letting me know what he wants and I am going to foster that. He actually had a great time and so did I.
