I am getting organized now and I love it. My linen closet has never
looked so good. I have nice white containers for everything. And I am
keeping the blankets in the rooms they are most used to keep them from
taking up all the space in the closet.
I am putting up curtains and pictures and making the house look good.
It just makes me happy to feel like this house is clean and spacious
and bright and airy!
My bathroom is white a shiny. I got a new shower curtain liner. I
always replace my shower curtain liner and my toilet brush when I move.
I hate the idea of packing them up and moving them. YUCK!

That’s a big job done!
Well, I finished cleaning up the old apartment. It was a BIG JOB
because the men who helped us move are MESSY SLOBS! But I scrubbed the
whole place from top to bottom and it looks pretty darned good, better
than it did when we moved in! I am proud of the job I did. Let’s hope
the landlord likes it too. I am so glad to be finished with that place!

The FUN never ends!
Well we are all moved in and settling in okay. Sorry for the delay in
posting but during our move, someone broke into our old place in the
terrible neighbourhood and robbed us. Some of the things that are gone
are my digital camera, my friends digital camera, a laptop, our computer
monitor, money and a few other things that we can tell. As I said, we
were moving so things were disorganized anyway. I am going up to the
old place tomorrow to clean it up but I have to say, I can’t be out of
there fast enough for me. The kids are loving this place. They love
the yard and they REALLY LOVE their room. They spend more time there
than anywhere else.

I guess it is really real!
At this very moment, there are men taking a load of boxes to my new
house! Yay! I am so glad to be getting out of this place!!!

Good things!
Well we officially have a washer and dryer in our new place now. And
we lucked into someone who will take one pick-up truck’s worth of boxes
for $50!! Yay!!! That is a lot less boxes to have to carry down THREE
flights of stairs!
On another note, I am so glad we are moving out of this place! Our fire alarm keeps going off from the drug users downstairs and today there were people screaming at each other and threatening to beat each other up and screaming right up to the window below us!

Mmm . . . vegan sausages and peppers
Tonight for supper I am making something that I am confident will be
VERY yummy! Vegan sausages and peppers! I bought some Tofurky sausages
as a treat. I don’t often eat meat substitutes as I find I would
rather just enjoy the wonders that fruits and veggies have to offer all
on their own, but I used to love sausages and since Wandering Aengus was
having sausages, I thought I would make some for me too.
So here is the plan for tonight:
-2 Tofurky Italian sausages
- 1/2 green pepper, julienned
- 1/2onion, sliced thinly
- 5 baby bella’s sliced (or button mushrooms)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 cloves minced garlic
Place oil into a pan and when it’s hot, add the sliced peppers, mushrooms and onions. Cook until they caramelize slightly, then add the garlic and sliced Tofurky sausages. Slices should be around 1/3rd inch thick. Cook all together for ~10 minutes until sausage is cooked through and veggies are tender. This would be good in so many ways but I am thinking of making myself a simple sandwich maybe with a little vegan nacho cheese.

Move scheduled!
I am still sore today but I am getting things done for this move. This
move came on so suddenly that I feel like it is completely out of
control. On the upside, the move is scheduled for Monday! I am so
excited to be in the new house soon. I can’t wait to spend hot summer
days in the yard with my kids.

A little sore
Okay, so one of the dubious benefits of having a lot of kids running
around my place is I find it hard to keep things off the floor. There
is always little bits of things some place I never intended them to be.
And today, I tripped over some and fell. With 3 month old Jackson IN
MY ARMS!!!! I landed hard on my knees and knew I wasn’t going to be
able stop myself from falling so I twisted myself so that I was under
her and he landed with his head on my chest. He was fine, but I am
sore. my neck, my stomach, my back and my knees are all achy and
sore. Fun, fun, fun. But at least I kept him from being hurt.

Creativity and Storage
I thought I would post some layouts I did of my three youngest sprouts. I wish I had a digital camera back when I had Lilly. I would love to be able to post hers to compare.
This is Rose
This is Lotus
And this is Reed
I also thought I would post some more storage ideas I had for after my move.
I like the idea of under shelf baskets for storage for things like bread. I actually have some of these that I can make better use of.
There is a small linen closet in the new place I love the ideas in this pic for making the best use of space and keeping it organized.
I love the idea of a using a shirt to make a holder for clothespins and using a tension bar for cleaners and then baskets for soaps, sponges, and such.

Coming Soon
Just a little note to let you know that I have been missing Twisted Cinderella. I have been TC for over 8 years and it was harder than I thought to just walk away. I have a new blog but even after six months, it still just isn't the same. So, I am preparing to come back here. Stay tuned, I have some stuff going on in the next two weeks but starting July 1st (or sooner) I am COMING BACK!!!! Call me wishy washy but I couldn't walk away, I am just going to bring my new sense of freedom in saying whatever I want to back here.

Homemade kitchen organization
I am planning ways to make the best use of space in our new place. Here are some ideas I have:
Plastic bottle plastic bag storage
Magazine rack for storing cans
Towel bar for storing pot lids
using the inside of the cupboard doors for storing cling wrap and sandwich bags
cabinet handles on the inside of cupboard doors or the side of cabinets for storage
So what cool and interesting ideas do you have for making the best use of space, especially in the kitchen.

Happy Father’s Day
For about 6 months, I posted on another blog. This a post that was copied from that blog. I used different names for the family. Just so you know the names were as follows:
Prince Charming - Wandering Aengus
Princess Belle - Lilly
Princess Magpie - Rose
Princess Snifflefritz - Lotus
Little Prince - Reed
We wish all the father’s in your lives a wonderful Father’s Day! Here is the card we created for Wandering Aengus. I followed with close-ups of each page.

We decided to arrange things differently in the new house. Lilly has been wanting her own room and she kind of deserves it. She is 6 years older than Rose is and shouldn’t have to share a room with a 4 year old and a 2 1/2 year old. So we are putting baby Reed in our room with a playpen in the living room as an option on nights when he needs more quiet to sleep. Then Lilly can have her own room and Lotus and Rose can share. We are thinking that in the future we could possibly put Reed in with the little girls for a little while before we eventually move into a four bedroom house as is our plan.
Lilly is so excited to have her own room. She has been planning it ever since.

Pics of our new HOUSE!
Here is the house we are going to be living in. There is stuff around from the guys who are fixing it up. I love how bright and airy it is. I love that it has a fenced in backyard for me and the kids to enjoy. I am excited. We also have a little cupboard under the stairs (like in Harry Potter LOL) . While this is not the best neighbourhood, or the best house, this is SO much better than our little apartment in a crappy scary neighbourhood.

Lease signed!
We were down today and signed a lease for our new place. It is
officially ours now. I got some pics so that I can post them later for
you to see. I really like how bright and sunny the new place is. I met
our new neighbours and I like them too. I am excited.

Robertson Ship Chandlery
My favorite part of the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic was William Robertson & Son Store! It has been on the Halifax Waterfront since the 1840s. Robertson Ship Chandlery has been restored to the way it looked at the turn of the last century. I think it looks so amazing

Bean Spread
For about 6 months, I posted on another blog. This a post that was copied from that blog. I used different names for the family. Just so you know the names were as follows:
Prince Charming - Wandering Aengus
Princess Belle - Lilly
Princess Magpie - Rose

I was trying to come up with something for breakfast, when I thought of some beans I had cooked up and left in my freezer. I decided I wanted to make some kind of spread to have with toast and it was really easy and good. I am sure you could use canned white beans for this but I used dried beans I had cooked up and frozen ahead of time.
1 1/2 cup of cooked beans (I would think that I full can of any sort of beans would work here)
1/8 cup water (just a splash to loosen it up)
2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon sea salt (or to taste)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (or to taste, and fresh would work here as well)
1 teaspoon taco seasoning (to taste and chili powder would work here instead)
I simple combined the ingredients, mashed them up and then heated them through. I served spread on toast, but it would be great on crackers
And just because I enjoy her enthusiasm, here is a picture of my Rose!
