Bobbly Fun

I love the little bobble-head toys we have on the dash of our van.  They look so happy, bobbing away in the sun.  Some are enthusiastic little dancers, some dance grudgingly like they don't want to.  It is a little bit of siily fun to see them every time we get into the van.  And, they always make me smile.

Belted

Little Prince has a different bus for a while.  This one doesn't have any special seats with a seat belt like his usual one. He was okay for a few days, but then he wouldn't keep seated.  So, now he has to wear a special harness while he is on the bus.  He doesn't mind, but it is a little bit of a pain to get on him.

Cutiepie

Well, we had our meeting.  It wasn't terrible.

On our way home, I picked up some good clippers so that I could cut his hair. There was a learning curve with the new clippers, but he looks so much better.  And, I will do a better job next time.

Meeting

The people who work with Little Prince in school have requested a meeting today.   I have such anxiety about it.  I am sure that it is probably nothing, but my mind always jumps to the worst possible scenario.  This is going to be a long day.

Beautiful

It is finally sunny outside.  It feels so good to just look out the window and enjoy the view of the sun shining over the trees and the rooftops.  I can't wait until the spring comes with warm weather, sunny days, and no shovelling.

Given the fact that I have both whiplash and lung problems, I don't have to in me to clear the snow out of our driveway and steps.

Hero

Prince Charming and I upgraded our cell phones today.  As a result we gave our old ones to the little girls.  They just use them as mini-computers to play games on, but they are thrilled.  It is fun to get to be the hero for a day.

Really?

It was still snowing today, and so I had to shovel us out again.  When I got done, I had trouble breathing. My airways were tight and my lungs felt tight and burny.  Apparently, all my shovelling in the stormy weather, when I have asthma has me experiencing bronchospasm.  So, hot showers and hot coffee and tea are in my future.

Storm

We have had a snow storm for the last two days.  Yesterday, the kids had a snow day from school.  Today, it was still stormy but the kids had school anyway.  I had to go out in the storm to shovel us out so that the kids would be able to get back into the house after school.  It took me hours to warm up! And, my lungs have been burning ever since.

I wonder how much snow our deck can handle? I can't open the door to get it off.

Project

Little Prince had the cutest project in his book bag.  It was a Tshirt that he had worked on.  My favorite part us where he wrote his name, because he wrote it out, finishing on the second line, and then started to write it again to fill out the number of spaces available.

Celebrating

We had a fun day out with Princess Belle, celebrating her turning 18 and becoming an adult.  We got our haircut (as is our tradition), we took her to McDonald's (her request), and let her spend all her Christmas money.  She was thrilled and had a blast. 

Playing

I have been thinking about changing the colors I decorate with.  When we move out of this house will be a good time to do that.  I am thinking that since I live in the maritmes and I  am  married to the son of a fisherman, a coastal farmhouse look would be fun.  Puttering around thrift shops and markets would be a fun way to pick things up over time.  I would love from red and yellow to blues, whites, and greys.  I even have a few blue things because of Autism Awareness Day fun.

Big Hit

Valentine's day was a big hit.  The kids had fun and I was thrilled to do something nice for them. It was a nice break from the daily struggle to get by.

Valentine's Day Fun

It is a COLD, COLD day today. So cold that there are warnings issued.  But, I braved the cold ling enough to get a few things to make Valentine's Day special for my kids.  I haven't been able to much the last few years, and I just want the kids to have fun.  So, now I am waiting for them to come home from school. I know they will be excited.   I even have a special supper planned.

I even had a special mug for my coffee today.

Wow!

As I sit here, drinking a coffee, looking out at the cold, grey day, I am amazed at the amount of snow outside. I know that we are only about halfway through the winter here and I have no idea where we are going to put all the snow.   And, I can't imagine how it would be to live in a basement apartment around here (like our downstairs neighbor)!

I long for warm, sunny days. I don't remember any other winter with so little sunshine.  Every day just seems grey and gloomy.

Fun

Princess Magpie and Princess Snifflefritz joined Drama Club today.  They were excited and it was cute to hear them talking about it.  Princess Magpie also has a field trip to go skiing. She is totally thrilled. These are the kinds of experiences that I wanted for them when they went to public school. 

Great!

Little Prince has had two great days at school.  He has even eaten.  Now, he had eaten cheesies, but at least he isn't coming home starving.  I am so glad!

Lollipop

So, Little Prince came out and asked for a lollipop.  I let him pick one out of a jug I have filled with them.  Then he walked away singing, "Lollipop, Lollipop, oh Lolly Lolly". It was about the cutest thing ever!

A Whole Day!

All of my kidlets finally made it through a whole day at school.  Let's aim for a whole week!

Awesome

We have such kind neighbors!  After all that snow, I looked out and there were three people outside clearing out our driveway! They even did our steps!! I almost never all the shovelling done before someone comes over and takes over with a snowblower.  So nice!

Stormy

We are all battened down to weather this winter storm.  The kids are feeling better and hopefully I will be soon too.  This flu is wearing me out. 

In the meantime, I am watching the snow pile up on our deck and hoping it doesn't get too heavy.  I can't open the door to get at it.  I have no idea how I am going to clear it off.

Poor kids.

And they're home sick again!  Little Prince is home with tummy troubles and Princess Snifflefritz is home feeling yucky.  This evening Princess Magpie said she was feeling yucky too.  I swear public school is giving their immune systems a thorough workout.  My poor babies.

I did it!

I did it.  I finally did it and I am thrilled with the results. I got some of my pictures of the kids bound into books and I did a calendar as well.  I LOVE it and I will be doing more things with my pictures as well.

Finally

All my babies are getting better.  Prince Charming us still sick, but at least there will be less sick people in the house.

In the meantime, I watched "PS. I Love You " tonight.  I cried so much!!!  I am such a mess.  I'm not kidding, I spent the rest of the night feeling drained and sad.  I mean, I LOVE this movie, and I love the people in it.  It is one of the few movies which make me cry that I can watch more than once.  Man, I need a hug.

Thank Goodness!

Well, the kids seem to be coming around. Appetites are returning, energy is increasing and activity is resuming.  Prince Charming is sick now and he has the man flu (teehee) but overall, life is starting to return to our house.  Thank Goodness!
