Changes Are Afoot (updated with pics)

I have hinted around that we are making a change to try to remedy Princess Belle's isolation. Well, we have made our decision.

To explain, we homeschool Princess Belle. Putting her in public school is out of the question as she really suffered due to her special needs. She was getting to the point that she wished she was dead, so we pulled her out. She has been very happy at home and loves being homeschooled. That being said, she is also very isolated. Our little cabin in the woods has almost no neighbours. There are no associations, teams, lessons, groups, clubs, etc that she can join to meet other kids. She is REALLY LONELY. She is so lonely that her imaginary friends are back with a vengence. I am worried about her and I knew we had to do something.

So Prince Charming and I had a talk. Our lives are all about doing what is best for the kids. They are the most important parts of our life. So we talked about the benefits to living here. Why I loved it so much. We had to be realistic and we realized that we had all the benefits and very few of them translated into benefits to Princess Belle. We couldn't in right conscience live somewhere that was making her suffer. So we decided to weigh our options.

Through the hands of fate and our own personal choices we were led to a beautiful house at the foot of Marble Mountain. It isn't that far way, but there are 8 little girls right on our street. There are groups and events and opportunities for the kids. When you are standing on the patio, you are looking at the waterfall coming down Marble Mountain. It is in a small community that is minutes from a city. Small town life with big town conveniences. There is an ice cream parlour a gas station, a coffee shop, and a little convenience store across the street. Around the front corner of the house there is a big beautiful rock garden, we are surrounded by mountains on two sides and trees on the other two and there is a swimming hole two yards over. We will be in our new home on August 1st. It isn't what I expected but now that things are falling into place, I am sure that our little home in the hills is where we meant to be.

I don't have pics of the house, but I do have pics of the mountain behind it and the falls we can see from our balcony:

And here is the small city that is about 7 minutes away:
