What The Heck?!?

Yesterday, I was out on the deck barefoot in a tank top, and couple of days ago I was sunburned and gardening, and we even had a BBQ this weekend!

This morning This I woke up to this nonsense!  What the heck is this craziness?!?

Ahhhh . . .

It is such a lovely, warm, sunny day today.  It was uplifting to just be out in it.  I simply had to stop and take pictures of the beautiful scenery that surrounds our community.

Honestly, when I went out I actually sighed with the wonderful feeling of spring.

Again!!!

We are having yet ANOTHER winter storm.  I am getting a little tired of winter and being in the house.  We are lucky though!  We have a guy who will plow our driveway after each storm and we just pay him for it all in the spring!  We have another guy who will deliver firewood and let us pay him when we get paid!  Our neighborhood is truly lovely.  

Crazy!!

The weather today is crazy.  At one point it is so beautiful and sunny thst my little girls went out to play.

An hour later, it is incredibly stormy, snowing so hard it is just this side of a blizzard!!!

Fifteen minutes later it is sunny and lovely again!

Winter Wonderland

It is snowing a lot today.  I don't really mind.  It is light fluffy snow with no real wind or anything.  So I stayed productive at home and put away some Christmas stuff, worked on the resource room, and made home made broth on the wood stove.

Are you sure it's the weekend?

Even though it is the weekend, it was a busy day in our house.  I took advantage of the day off homeschooling to get some things done.  The biggest thing was the mountain of laundry over half of which was laundry that Prince Charming and Princess Belle had been stock-piling.  I started laundry at 8:30 this morning and had the washer and dryer going non-stop until 7:16 this evening.  That's a LOT of laundry!

While the laundry was being done I also was busy scrubbing my kitchen. It just needed a good thorough cleaning. When it came time to clean the fridge the little girls wanted to help. It might have taken us twice as long but they were excited and enthusiastic helpers. They helped clear every thing out of the fridge and then helped clean the racks. They were so sweet.

It is a good thing we didn't plan to go anywhere because it was freezing rain all day and now it is snowing!  I would be terrified to drive in this!  Look at the ice that was on my step before the snow fell.

Brrr . . . .

We are having a bit of a storm today.  But not nearly as bad as the rest of the province is.  For us it is a bit windy and we had snow last night.  But all in all, if you stay inside, drink a nice hot cup of coffee or tea and enjoy your kids, it is all fine.  I did go out and shovel the walkway in the back of the house (for the mailman) and in the front of the house (for us to get out).  As cold and windy as it was, I enjoyed the physical activity.

We even managed to get everything (homeschooling, shoveling and housework) done a little earlier today so that by three o'clock we could just enjoy each other for a little while before supper!!  So really, for a snowy day it has been a good day.

Well I guess that makes it official then!

Princess Snifflefritz looked out the window today and declared, "Mommy!  It's spring!  It's Spring!  There's dandelions out there!"  In her little mind, the first day she sees dandelions is the first day of spring.  So in honor of her 'first day of spring', I did a little photo-shoot with a dandelion.

Emergency?

Well, three days after our last storm and 2 days before the first day of Spring, we are having ANOTHER storm.  It is pretty nasty in town and everything is shut down.  They are actually considering calling a state of emergency! This is on crazy winter!!

Baking with my girls

I LOVE baking with my little girls.  It doesn't matter how simple it is, they get excited to help.

Today, we did something simple.  We mixed a spice cake mix with one can of club soda (or soda water) and then baked as usual.  It was easy and they loved watching the bubbles and stirring it together.

For a fall theme, after the muffins were done the girls put leaf decals I got at the dollar store and they were totally excited.

Again???

So apparently old age (42 years old) has brought me a strong case of the clumsy's.  I can't even count the number of times my butt or my knees have ended up on the ice this year!  I just seem to have no balance on the ice anymore.  UGH!

So now I have another case technicolor knees and a sore neck again! The last time I feel my neck hurt and I ended up with a 12 day headache!! Please let's hope that my headache and sore neck doesn't last as long this time!
