Day Two

We got our uhaul packed and got on the road.  It has been a long, hard day of driving since I got only 3 1/2 hours sleep last night.  We got started today at 6 and now it is 10:18 and we are waiting to get on the ferry.  I am so grateful for my friends and for how great my kids have been.  As an additional treat, Little Prince even read a whole book by himself!!!  He has been so funny today.  There is nothing better than his giggles filling our van while we drive.

Day One

Well we picked up the uhaul and spent the day loading it.  It was a nightmare picking it up.  Ready was completely incompetent and man9to make the process take 2 hours!!! We mostly have it loaded now with a few things to go in morning.  I am supposed to be sleeping but after 2 hours sleep, I am awake. It is going to be a long day.

I got such a lot done today.  I am feeling a lot better about some things.  Princess Belle and I even bleached our hair in preparation for dying it red.  I am tired and my back hurts, but I feel a little more ready for things.  Good thing since we pick up our trucking two days! So soon!!

Bright Spot

I have to say that while I am VERY stressed with this move, there is one bright spot.  I am very grateful for my friend, Princess Tigger.  She has been completely there for me as she always has been, she has been someone that I can depend on.  This move would be impossible without her and I have no words to say how much I appreciate her!!

More

We got a few more things crossed off our before move to-do list.  A good thing is that we got permission for a few more bags of garbage to be picked up on moving day.  I really need all the final details to be laid out for my stress levels and I could really use a good night's sleep but I am glad to be accommodating things.

Princess Belle's Biscuits

These are Princess Belle's favorite biscuits.  I will sometimes make them for breakfast or to serve with stews.

4 cups all-purpose flour
2 Tablespoon baking powder
2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cups margarine cold, (I use vegan)
1  1/2 cup whole milk (I use cashew milk)

Combine dry ingredients.

Blend margarine into dry ingredients.

Pour in milk and mix until just combined.

Form into 12 to 14 biscuits.  (I use my hands).

Bake at 425° for 12 minutes.

The countdown is on to our move.  One week!!!!  I am losing my mind.  Remind me why I am doing this again!  Agh

Oh boy

Panic is setting in with regards to my move.  I have so much to do and only 8 days to do it!!! This is crazy.  I am starting to lose sleep from stress, and I am drinking enough coffee to keep a whole coffee factory in business. 

Hoppy Easter!

I hope you all had a lovely Easter.  We had a nice one, even if it was smaller than usual. 

Oh boy

If Little Prince could stop destroying his stuff long enough for us to move and be in a better place financially, that would be great.  I can NOT keep up with this boy's destructive ways.  I just need his sleepers and mattress to last. 

Whew

This has been a busy day of packing, cleaning, organizing, and repeatedly putting clothes back on Little Prince.  I am trying not to dwell on the financial stress of this move and getting through it.  It is a good thing I have cute little ones to make me smile.

What Next

And now my living room chair broke!  I will have yo move a crappy broken chair and try to replace it when we move.  This sucks.  I am so stressed.

I was thrilled to wake up to the sight of a bright sunny day and all my giant pile of big garbage gone. 

I did get more packing done, which made me feel good.

I am overwhelmed by the amount of things to get done and the prospect of trying to stretch my budget enough to afford everything we need to pay for on this move.  I am getting stressed and have been having terrible dreams.  I will be glad when this is over.

Light

I love watching the way the light is here sometimes.  Every evening right before sundown, the sky lights everything up gold.  It is beautiful.  Today, the weather has been yucky however this evening, the trees were lit up brightly against the dark sky.  It is so pretty.

Conversations

Lately, every day when I change and dress Little Prince, he has been repeating lines from his favorite book, "I Love You Through and Through".

I love it because he gets so happy as we repeat lines like, "I love your top side, I love your bottom side, I love your inside and outside, I love your happy side, your sad side. Your silly side and mad side, I love your fingers and toes, Your ears and nose. I love your hair and eyes, Your giggles and cries. I love you running and walking, Silent and Talking, I love you through and through. Yesterday, today and tomorrow too." It is just the sweetest, most wonderful conversation to start our day.  I LOVE that boy!

Sunny Sunday

We had a quiet, beautiful day today.  It was warm and sunny and the kind of day that makes me happy. We put more stuff to the curb  for community cleanup and were pleasantly surprised to see that some of it was taken before the end of the day.  The guy came to get more of the furniture that we are not taking.  With each thing that we get rid of, it feels like one less thing we have to deal with on move day.

Watching

We finally managed to get rid of the old broken van today.  Little Prince was fascinated with the whole process.  It was so cute to see his little face in the window.

Good and Bad

We had another productive day today.  We got a lot done.  We did find out that the start of Prince Charming's new job is delayed.  Which means less money before we move, which makes our already tight budget even more tight.   But I will work to make it happen.  It is just stressful.  

And we had the cutest audience ever as we worked.

Productive

We got a lot done for the move today.  Prince Charming got the equipment he needs for his new job, we talked to someone about our old, broken van, and we arranged for someone to take all the furniture that we are not taking.  It was a very productive day.

I am feeling stressed about the move.  I keep feeling like I am going to not get everything done.  Moving is SO stressful.

Smile

There are little things that make me smile.  Starting my morning with a nice hot coffee in my favorite flamingo mug in the quiet of a sleeping house is lovely.  It feels like it starts my day off on the right foot. 

Spotting cute things at yard sales and  flea markets makes me smile too.  The other day I went to one and I scored a big bag of cookbooks for FREE (which is about my budget right now LOL). I also came across this funny sign which used to hang in a local establishment years ago.

Moments

I love the moments involved in changing my boy.  When he looks me in the eyes and excitedly repeats lists for me to repeat after him.  He might list favorite foods.  He might list names of his favorite shows, or he might just repeat lines from a book or show.  He tells me the list of the day and is thrilled every time I play along and repeat after him.  After I finish changing him, he holds my shoulders, looks into my eyes and finishes his list.  I can see the love and joy in his eyes as he connects with me.  And I cherish that.  I hold the feeling of his hands on me and his eyes looking at me in my heart.  And I am filled with love for my boy.

Facemask Fun

Yesterday, my girls tried some facemasks I bought them months ago.  It was so cute to hear them giggling and talking as they applied the product to their faces.  And when they came out, I had to laugh too, it was EVERYWHERE.  What a fun time they had.

Getting Ready

We got all our reservations made today.  It feels good to be getting things prepared.  We have beloved friends who have volunteered to drive our moving truck for us.  Princess Tigger is one of our drivers and she is helping us with people to load the truck on this side (Have I mentioned how much I love that girl?).  We also have our utilities lined up for the new house too.  We only have to line up unloaders for the other side and we will be set.

Silly

We have a silly Little Prince.  We couldn't figure out why the playroom was so cold and it turned out that he had the thermostat changed to cold instead of heat!!! It is nicer these days, but on this dreary rainy day we really needed to heat the house and not cool it.

Lovely

It was a beautiful, sunny day today.  It felt like summer is just around the corner.  I took advantage of the to go out and get more boxes and do some running around.  I am looking forward to summer home in Newfoundland, even if it means the end of the hot summers and easy winters.

Too Old

We spent the day going through all the piles of things that Prince Charming had piled up in his corner.  It was a big job because he is a big piler of junk.  But we got through it.  I am so tired.  I am too old for this stuff.
