Great Day

I had a lovely trip to Yarmouth today.  I had a doctor's appointment first, but then I just spent a little time enjoying all my favorite parts of Yarmouth.  I love it there.

Keto

I have been doing the keto diet lately.  It will be two weeks on Saturday and I have to say, it is going well.  I concentrate on getting my macros right and eating the right things and as  a result, the scale has finally started moving again.  I also cut out most of my evening eating, but that was easy as I am not hungry after supper.  And . . . I feel great, not deprived at all!

Accomplished!

I worked hard cleaning today.  One of my biggest accomplishments was the improvements I made to the kitchen floor.  I have been scrubbing that thing for months to no avail.  It is constantly filthy.  And it has since I moved in. I have broken off three mops on it!! I HATE it and am so completely embarrassed by It!

Today, I got on my knees and went over every inch of the whole thing three times.  First, I scrubbed.  Then, I scraped.  And lastly I sponges it down.  And I repeated these steps, on my aching knees until my floor looked at least moderately decent.

  I just couldn't take the mess anymore.  The rest of my house is fine.

It is just that darned kitchen floor!!

Silly Shenanigans

My kids are the best parts of my life.  I get such a kick out of watching how their little minds think, watching them grow and change.

Playing Dressup

I love the way my kids love to dress up.  They spend a lot of time playing in costumes.  I love to hear their imaginative play.  It often runs into other parts of our day.

Funny girls

We finished our Egyptian unit with the girls using their creativity and imagination  to make pharaoh headdresses.

We also started studying caves and crystals.  We started a crystal growing project and learned about caves.  Then, the girls made cave artwork illustrating stalagtites and stalagmites.

They cracked me up when they decided to do homeschool dressed as witches.

Breathtaking

I was riding into town to get Little Prince his foods, noticing all my favorite views, when I had the thought that I really do live in the middle of a post card.  It is simply beautiful here.  There are little beacons of beauty around every corner.  I think one day soon, I am going to take a quick photo taking day.  I just need to share all the lovely spots that are here in the cradle of our nation.

Quiet

A quiet day with Prince Charming gone.  We did more of Egypt in our homeschool, with the girls making snakes for a craft.

I rearranged the living room and gave it a really good cleaning.  And for supper, I made their favorite, taco mac (which is always a hit).

I tried bulletproof coffee for breakfast.  I added cinnamon and it was actually really good.  I was surprised!

Gone

Prince Charming is back at work for the season. That means that he will be gone several days a week.  I dropped him off today for four days.

Date

I have a had a really nice couple of days.  Prince Charming and I went to a movie at the wonderful little theater here in Annapolis Royal.  It was fun, we almost never do that.  We also went to the first summer Farmer's Market of the year.  It was filled with people who come here to vacation on the weekends and it occurred to me that I live in a place so beautiful that other people come here to vacation.  That is a pretty special thing.

Letting Me Know

I love it when my boy lets me know exactly what he wants.  He asked for cookies and when I brought him a Bear Paw he looked at me and said, "round cookie?".  He found a way to specify which kind of cookie he wants.  I love my boy so much!

Fun

I love spending time with my family.  It is fun to just be together and enjoy each other.

Egypt

We started a unit on Egypt today.  Luckily, I have a few great books about Egypt to supplement our studies with.  Here is our first Egypt craft, paper pyramids:

This Boy

See this boy . . . this boy is the sweetest boy ever to walk this world.  He is funny, gentle, and loving.  He lights up my whole world, I am so grateful for him.

Happy Mother's Day!

I had do do a road trip today in order to dropPrince Charming's friend off at home.  But when we got home, my baby girls had made me Mother's Day crafts.  They were so cute!

The Same But Different

I love how my kids think.  I love assigning the little girl' the same assignments and watching turn in two very different prices of artwork.  I love watching them work so hard to create something that expresses their vision.  Here is the Mother's Day craft we did today.
