Jumble

It was a busy day.  We are having a little BBQ for Canada Day tomorrow and there was a lot of little things to do.

The girls had fun watching me get ready to go out.  I even put lip gloss on them which made them very happy.

I am trying to decide what color to dye my hair next.  Do you have any ideas?

Little Prince had therapy today.  He was a little bit excitable and didn't participate well.  He had fun but after half an hour he kept trying to leave.  He decided that he was done.  Silly boy.

I made the kids tacos for supper because it doesn't heat up the house, it minimizes leftovers, and is always a hit with the kids.

Well That Was an Adventure I Could Have Done Without!

So we had quite the adventure the other day!  First, let me tell you a secret, this house is OLD.  I mean it was built before indoor plumbing and electricity old, I mean the bathroom had no sink and there are no outlets in two bedrooms old.  This is an O L D house and it has been a rental property for decades and the tenants have not taken real great care of it.  I LOVE the character of an old house but it does come with some inconveniences.  Such as, trying to find a stud to hand a picture on only to realize that the entire middle of the wall has NO STUDS at all!!!!!  And the only bedroom that wasn't painted when we moved in was Little Prince's room.  We planned on doing that next month because it looked pretty ugly and he deserves a cute room too.  One panel on the wall had duct tape running along the seam.

So now that you understand this house, let's move on to the adventure the other day.  Princess Belle went to bring a drink to Little Prince who always likes a drink before he gets up for the day.  She looked in  his room and called me in a panic!  Little Prince had removed the duct tape from the wall (as a curious, autistic 4 year old child is likely to do) and when he did, the entire panel came off the wall.  Then he removed all the insulation and scattered it around his room!  There was pink and paper EVERYWHERE!!!  There were a few finishing nails sticking out of the panel.  That was all that was holding it up!  It was a MESS and it was scary.  Little Prince has no sense of safety and could have really hurt himself.  I was more than a little panicked as I cleaned up the mess.

I love my house, I love the character, but the hidden things scare me a little.  Here's to no more disasterous finds!

Beautiful

It was a beautiful day today (This picture is in lovely Tusket!). I spent most of it shopping for groceries send taking Little Prince to therapy.  I am tired but I feel blessed to have happy children and adults full pantry.

I even bought a couple of dresses.  Prince Charming and I have been together for 16 years and this month is the first time I bought a dress (other than the bridesmaid dress 15 years ago.)  It feels nice to have something cute to wear.

WOO-HOO! !

My boy learned a new word and tried a new food!!  He is slowly kicking Autism's barriers down!  He is happily munching on TWO different kinds of crackers!!!  When he finishes them, he looks at me and says, "crackers" very clearly!!  Telling me he wants more!!!  I love watching him overcome so much.  My boy is learning and changing every day!

Really?

Sixteen years ago today, I made the spur of the moment decision to throw caution to the wind and go on a date with a man who made my heart flutter (a decision that I knew would not be popular with my family).  This put me on the path to a life filled with more joy, more love, and more contentment than I could ever have imagined.  It was my best first date and my last first date.  Today, 16 years later, we have four beautiful children and a wonderful life that I wouldn't change for anything.  I love you Prince Charming.

Us on the 6 month anniversary of our first date.

Us this past Christmas.

Us in February.

Really?? Has it been 16 years??  Where has the time gone??

Trying New Things

So Little Prince has been running and bashing against the walls (as usual) in his room.  I get worried when he bashes against his window.  He isn't trying to break it, it is just his way of stopping.  I have been trying to think of ways to keep him from breaking the window.  I was thinking of doing something decorative on the wall which could be attached to the whole wall including the bottom half of the window frame, would look cute, would take the bash instead of the glass, but wouldn't block his view out the window.

Here are some pictures I am inspired by:

I also tried a new color of lipstick today.  I am just experimenting since I dislike my hair so much.

Surprisingly

The little girls have been really enjoying our little summer school.  And in turn, I am impressed by how well they are doing as we concentrate a lot more on their reading.  We have also been learning about Germany as well, just for fun.  When we are doing Germany, we end with songs in German like counting, ABCs and Disney songs in German.  The girls are having a LOT of fun with it.  I even found a set of Phonics flash cards to play games with that goes along with our reading!!

Summer School

The little girls and I did our first day of homeschool in this new house today.  We started our summer school, which is basically learning about a place (Germany today), poetry (a book for poetry in the classroom I have) and reading.  They had so much fun and didn't want to stop.

After it was over, Princess Snifflefritz decided to some coloring and Princess Magpie decided to practice her reading.  I love how motivated to learn the little girls are.  Princess Belle is less excited about summer school (LOL not fun when you are a teenager) so I told her we would start with her next week and would only do math so that it would be short.

On a sidenote, I still really HATE my hair!

Jun 20, 2016

Tell me it isn't that bad.

I got my hair cut today and I am not really happy with the results.  I brought the girl the same picture I had last time she gave me this cut but she cut the top way too short.  I have to take off my glasses so I have to show her what I want and then trust her but this time when I put my glasses on to survey the results I was a little horrified.  Princess Snifflefritz greeted me at the door and told me I would be beautiful with a wig because she HATED the cut. Oh well it is just hair,  it will grow back, most of the pink is gone, and it will be cooler for the summer.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to the father of my beautiful babies.

First thing this morning the girls and I went out to buy presents for Daddy for Father's Day.  They were so excited.

After we got home, we spent the afternoon in the yard with our neighbours.  It was a lot of fun and even Prince Charming and Little Prince enjoyed themselves!

Simply Wonderful

We had a lovely day.  It was sunny and warm.  We went to the Farmers market and bought yummy fruits and veggies.  The kids were so excited to try each of the new fruits we bought.   I bought a new survey dress and the girls declared me beautiful and Princess Belle said I didn't look like a mom at all.  *giggle*

We ended up with a BBQ in the yard while the kids enjoyed the new sandbox we bought them.   They were totally happy . . . even Princess Belle.
