I thought I would share some pics from our feild trip the other day. We had a lot of fun and as I mentioned, Princess Belle was on the run so much, I didn't get a lot of GOOD pics, but here are some pics I did manage to get.
She was properly horrified but what 5 lbs of fat looks like
She entered lots of contests.
She read lots of informative information and asked lots of good questions.
She even won this contest!!!
We stopped for a snack. I had some melon and she picked out a yogurt parfait, and insisted we sit next to the fish tank.
There was a farmers market outside and went there too.
She thought the bench next to the singer was a great place to finish her snack.
Afterwards, we met Daddy at the mall with all the littles. I had a veggie sub, the girls had ice cream for dessert.
Little Prince slept through the whole adventure.

Saturday Photohunt: Dodgy and Travel
Technorati PhotoHunters and Photohunter Facebook
The theme this week are~ Dodgy ~ and Travel I went on a field trip with Princess Belle yesterday to a health fair. It was lots of fun with lots of stuff to see and do and when I was trying to take pics of the her enjoying the experience, she was VERY DODGY, either her gaze would suddenly TRAVEL and I would end up with a pic of the back of her head, or she would suddenly run off and TRAVEL off to see another exhibit thereby DODGING yet another pic. (I did manage to catch a couple of pics when she stopped to eat though LOL

Thursday Thoughts
- You remember how I mentioned that I had family that would be make remarks on facebook being unsupportive of our homeschooling, Well, I never said anything, I just removed them from my facebook friends list so I wouldn't have to look at the comments. Well yesterday they noticed and they got mad. I simply said that the posts had been pointed out to me and that I didn't feel keeping people on my friends list if they made me feel like I couldn't talk about homeschooling, since it was such a large part of my day these days. She said I was just insecure and I told her, "I feel no need to get involved in drama with regards to how I raise my kids. I know I am doing right by them, I am confident in that. No guilt. No need for debate." I think I handled it well. I just hate the drama that comes from these people sometimes.
- I had planned on taking more pics of Little Prince the other day but weather didn't cooperate and it hasn't since. I REALLY want to take some cute pics, but my adorable model gets tired and the outdoor pics I want to take, are dependant on the weather. So, if all the stars align, be prepared for some cuteness to appear on my blog.
- I love the colors of all the trees in our backyard right now, the leaves are just starting to turn, but the colors are so pretty!!!
- Little Prince does this adorable thing where he lifts his one foot up and just stares at it. It is so funny to see him laying there with one foot stuck straight up.
- A friend came by today. We hadn't seen her in a few months it was nice to see her. She is due to have a baby girl in a week and a half! She is so excited. And, her mother-in-law signed for her to get a mortgage on a trailer so now she can move out of the terrible location she is living in to a place of her own.
- Princess Magpie loves to help with Little Prince. I love to let her help feed him. She isn't all that good at actually getting much food in there so we take turns giving him spoonfuls.
- I LOVE how close Princess Magpie and Princess Snifflefritz are. I love to catch them being best friends even if it is just a pic caught on a phone.

Is there anything sweeter than the sounds of a six month old baby cooing and gurgling early in the morning? I really don't think there is. If I could bottle this up and save it for the future, it would be a lifetime of happy in a bottle.
I can't believe that he is six months old already. Here are some things about my little man:
I can't believe that he is six months old already. Here are some things about my little man:
- He loves all sorts of soft foods.
- He is sweet natured
- Always with a ready smile.
- He can't sit up on his own, but with a little support he can.
- He bounces in a bouncy frame, using his legs to push and bounce.
- He plays with the toys around it.
- He doesn't like to be alone and wants attention at all times.
- He loves to be snuggled, talked to, loved on and just soaks up all sorts of attention.
- He makes me a little sad that he will be my last baby.

Homeschool Math
I have decided to take the advice of so many people I spoke to and to change our approach to math. The truth is, my main goal in homeschooling is to provide my children with a love of learning and to teach them how to discover answers for themselves. Life is an ever-learning, ever-growing process. I LOVE to learn. I LOVE to research and discover things. I would love to pass that along to my children and if something in our homeschool is working against that goal, then it has to change.
So in answer to that, I am going to try to make it fun. I am going to look at each topic in our math book and then go on my own and find a way of making it a game or an activity. Like the five digit addition and subtraction we were doing the other day. We could have played a game. I throw something and she throws something. She measures the difference, converts it to millimeters or centimeters whichever would be 5 digits and figures out the difference. Then we add them together to see how far we could have thrown working together. This is measuring, it is addition and subtraction and it is activity. It would be fun and she would like it better than sheets and sheets of math problems. I am going to keep putting on my creative hat to come up with activities that can work.
(I have to admit, this one came to me in my dreams last night. LOL)

Sunday Smiles
I am a little lacking in inspiration this morning. The house is quiet and I have a MOUNTAIN of housework to do. So for now I am going to share a few smiles with you.
And one more smile from each of my children just to make you smile too

Saturday Photohunt: Automobile and Escape
Technorati PhotoHunters and Photohunter Facebook
The theme this week are ~ Escape ~ and Automobile. I found two pics which suit both themes. The first pic is in a toy car at the playground. It was taken a year ago and Princess Snifflefritz is trying to make the great escape so that she can go play. The next pic is of the kids all packed into their car seats in April of last year when we are making one of our great escapes and moving.

I need help with math
I am having motivation troubles with math with my beautiful Grade Five, Princess Belle. She HATES math. She always has. She doesn't struggle with it, she is good at it, she just hates it. Do you guys have ideas to make it more fun, interesting, or to motivate her in any way?? I could use the help.
Eeww Eeww Eeww!!
It is funny the things that people use to find my blog. I was just looking through the search terms that people use to get here and while it is fun to see some, some are just CREEPY!!! The creepy men who find me make me want to go get a shower! EEEEWWWW. That being said, I refuse to let the knowledge that creepy men come here looking for things that they don't find change how I blog in any way. Sorry guys, this is just a mommy blog where an over-tired, vegetarian, homeschooling mom shares her life with her blog friends. If you want something disgusting, you will have to move on to some other blog on your creepy little list.

Wordless Wednesday: Hard at Work
For more Wordless Wednesday go check out 5 minutes for mom and 7 Clown Circus!
I know these are supposed to be wordless but I couldn't resist just a few words. Firstly, forgive the quality of these pics, I took them with my cell phone. Here is my beautiful Princess Belle hard at work doing homeschool. I don't post nearly enough pictures of her compared to her little sisters and brother but that is only because they are always around and she is a big girl and is often somewhere else in the house or the yard enjoying herself and learning about the world around us. So, today I'll show you just how beautiful she has become lately by posting a pic of her working and one of her thinking about her work. (honestly, wasn't she just a baby a couple of months ago???)
