Cuteness Incorporated

Well, I did go to sleep last night and even had a good nights sleep. Interrupted a few times for feedings for Princess Snifflefritz (will she EVER sleep through the night??), but good other than that.

Princess Magpie is so funny. She loves to run around the house finding things she feels she shouldn't have and get them and hand them to the adult she feels should have them. When you sit down, you can quickly become guardian of an empty mug she found, a spoon, the remote control, the shoes by the door, the blanket on the chair and the shoes by the door. She looks around, says, "Uh Oh!" and goes thump, thump, thumping across the floor as fast as her little legs can carry her to get the offending object and give it to the adult she feels needs it saying, "Here da go!" Then she walks away, brushing off her hands, saying "Good Girl!" to herself in satisfaction.

But Daddy has to be careful where he takes off his socks now, because before you can blink your eyes, she has dropped the fudgsicle she was happily dripping down her shirt and now the socks have become gloves, or puppets and she is happily sporting daddys dirty socks on her hands! EEeww Yuck!!

When big sister, Princess Belle goes out to play, Princess Magpie runs to the living room window and Princess Belle sweetly puts on a little show to entertain her.

She always runs to her baby sister when she cries and does little dances and makes funny noises in her adorable 22 month old way until her 5 month old baby sister stops crying and starts laughing at her.

Or she tries to feed her with a toy baby bottle. LOL

Whenever she sees her daddy laying on the couch under a blanket, she drops whatever she is doing, comes thumping across the floor, lifts the blankets up and crawls up with her. Helping herself to a daddy cuddle.

She really is cuteness incorporated.

But then so are her sisters:

Putting it off

I am putting off going to bed alone with everyone being in bed and the house being so big and quiet. I have to go to bed at some point, I have babies that will wake me up. I guess I am just a big baby and missing Prince Charming tonight.

It's weird, it's not even like I haven't been away from him before. But tonight the house seems bigger and emptier than usual.

Alone with the Kiddies

Prince Charming is away for a few days looking at options to remedy Princess Belle's problem with the isolation here. This means that I will be alone for the next few days with three little children, two of whom are under two! Tonight, I am a little lost. I am used to having him here to talk to after the kids go to bed.

Five Months Photoshoot

Princess Snifflefritz is already 5 months old! Here is the photoshoot we did today in our living room. I like the pink background I decided to go with this time.

Friday Five

  1. My poor Princess Belle has a stomach bug tonight. Poor baby.
  2. Princess Magpie spent the better part of the evening running around with her daddy's socks on. She looked so cute with those socks pulled up to her thighs. Princess Magpie is 22 months old and counts to two. She can't even talk a lot yet, but she counts to two all the time. She then starts all over again so she makes us laugh.
  3. Princess Magpie has started telling us when she has dirtied her diaper. She pats her diaper at us. It is cute as heck. We reinforce the behavior by jumping up to change her as soon as she does this. I have a feeling, she won't be difficult to train when it comes time.
  4. Princess Snifflefritz is back to sleeping lightly and wanting to be with me at ALL times. I don't mine, but I can't get anything done. Princess Magpie makes up for her jealousy by hugging and kissing us both and by sitting with us when I sit to feed her.
  5. I am going to be winding down our homeschool year soon. We need a break and I am looking forward to starting fresh. We will start back in August.

A little better

I am feeling a little better today. I think I just need to get a handle on things, I need to start developing some plans and feel like I am in control so that I am feeling less overwhelmed.

I am going to stress less about my diet. I am going to do the best I can and then just relax. If I feel good and do as well as I can, the weight will come off eventually. Luckily, Prince Charming says he loves me the way that I am and encourages me to do more for myself.

It helps that Princess Snifflefritz let me sleep for five hours last night. She never does that and I don't expect it again tonight, but it was lovely to get more than two hours sleep in a row for once.

I am struggling today. I am feeling down. My weightloss is a bust at this point. I am right where I started. I get woken up 3 or 4 times a night every night and then I get woken up every day at 7 or 7:30 am. Princess Snifflefritz has gotten really clingy and wants to be in my arms all the time, she only naps for about 15 minutes at a time and wants to be in my arms again. I can't get anything done, because she needs me. Princess Magpie has noticed and she has gotten a bit more clingy too because she is feeling a bit jealous. I am having troubles getting at our schooling with the two of them needing me all the time too. In the last little while, I have lost my husband's uncle, my grandmother and now my uncle is dying within the next few days. I am feeling weepy and tired and overwhelmed and sad. There just isn't enough of me today.

I normally don't share this stuff here, but today, I just needed to share.

Sunday Drive

We went for a lovely family drive yesterday. It was fun. We stopped and took pictures of whatever caught my fancy. I got a LOT of pics. We let Princess Belle get out a couple of times and run around.

I have been selected as a member of the TOS Homeschool Crew for the 2010-11 year! I am excited at the opportunity to try new things in our homeschooling and to share our experiences with all of you!

random thoughts (in point form)

  1. I love how sweet Princess Magpie loves her baby sister. When Princess Snifflefritz cries, Princess Magpie pats her on the belly and shushes her like I do. It is adorable. She will also get up and do a little dance and try to entertain her. Princess Snifflefritz laughs at the dance and Princess Magpie is thrilled.
  2. I am a little concerned about Princess Belle. She is really lonely here. She is so lonely that her make-believe friends are back with a vengence. She says she knows they are pretend, but truthfully, I am not so sure. She "sneaks" into the kitchen in the mornings for a snack and talks to the them the whole way, giving herself away. She gets up during a movie that she really likes to talk to them and when we tell her to sit down and finish watching the movie, she makes sure her friends are sitting down too. When she goes outside, we ask who she is talking to and she says, "My friends, they came out too." I know part of it is probably her Autism, but I am concerned that living here is really setting her back. She is so much happier homeschooled than at school, but she needs to live somewhere where she has access to other children sometimes.
  3. Princess Snifflefritz still doesn't sleep through the night. I am glad she no longer has a cold and isn't waking up every 15 - 30 minutes, but I could really use a full nights sleep.
  4. My pantry, fridge and freezer are so full, I can't fit anything else in. I LOVE it. It makes me feel secure.#Autism

Getting Better

Well my kids are on the mend. I am glad. I have had about enough of cranky kids to do me quite a while and I am so sleep-deprived I have taken to falling asleep sitting up with a kid in my arms. Today I managed to get children out of my arms long enough to get my kitchen cleaned and my living room tidied. Now tomorrow, I have to get groceries and maybe attack some more laundry.

I am still dealing with the issue of Princess Belle's loneliness out here. I am making decisions and deciding what to do that is best for her.
