I hate getting sick

I have the flu! Again! I want to crawl under the covers and hibernate until it is gone. But, I won't. I have a family to look after. But just so you know why I am quiet today. I am sick.

Money Woes

If I had all the money in the world, we would have a kick-butt Christmas. This time of the year is the one time I hate to budget. I would love to get my kids all the stuff that they look at. When Princess Belle points to things in the store, I would love to tell her to ask Santa for it. This time of the year it sucks to budget. I am trying to get through this Christmas without being behind in my bills. My goal is get through with a nice Christmas and no big catching up to do the next month because the month after Christmas is Princess Belle's birthday and I would like to do something special for her.

Friday Five

  1. I love Princess Mag-pie's hands they are so expressive. Even in her sleep, the first sign that something is bothering her is that she opens up her little fingers like she is going to give someone a high five and as she settles down the fingers close back up and the hand drops down. When she grins she either makes tight little fists or she clasps them together like she is trying to pray.
  2. What WAS Madonna thinking with this outfit? Supposedly it is feathers but it looks to me like she wearing someone's lawn!

  3. Princess Belle was sitting studiously writing in the living room behind the chair yesterday. She came over with an envelop and handed me this note that she had written by sounding out the words.
In case you don't read Princess Belle, it says, "I love you because you are the best!" Isn't that the sweetest thing! My heart overflows.
  4. I have had a headache for 4 or 5 days now. It sucks and my house is starting to show signs of my pain (ie it is becoming a mess) So today, when Princess Mag-pie slept in, I cleaned up a little. My head still hurts but at least I don't feel guilty about my house.
  5. I have the best neighbours. They truly do spoil me! Just recently they have come over with Carrot Cake, Caramel Pecan Cake and Chocolate cake! I am going to gain a million pounds, but at least I will be full of YUMMY stuff!

Sweet Smiles

I love going in to wake up my baby girl. She is so sweet and full of smiles. It is a wonderful way to start the day. I walk in and we cuddle, and giggle while I change her and get her dressed. She is so sweet and smiley.

Headache

I have the worst headache. I have TMJ and I tend to get them, but it has been a while and this one is really bad. My mouth hurts so bad, I don't want to close my teeth together. I am trying to function, but truthfully, I want to crawl into a hole until the pain goes away.

What do you do for a headache?

Hurry Hurry

The above cartoon so describes me these days. The minute I have a little time without the baby in my arms, I scramble around to try to get some things done. It leaves me exhausted but at least I have some semblance of control over my house. I mean, my house isn't spotless, but I can usually avoid the disaster zone it had become. I do this so much that at this very moment, my conscience is pricking me because I could be folding laundry right now instead of chatting with you guys!

Four Months Old

We had our monthly photo shoot with her little Froggie yesterday. She was adorable, if a little cranky and hard to get to smile.

Saturday Photohunt -- My Girls

Theme: Reflection Become a Photo Hunter

The theme this week is Reflection. I had first thought of a picture from last year of Princess Belle looking into a mirror but then I looked at these and thought about how Princess Mag-pie is a mirror reflection of her big sister. And, I never saw it before.

She did it!!

My baby girl rolled over for the FIRST TIME! AND I got it on camera. Or rather I got the result! I was so proud I cried!

Thursday Thirteen #72

Thirteen Things About Twisted Cinderella
  1. I am super-tired the last couple of days. I could really use a week and a half's sleep.
  2. I met with the school psychologist to take further steps in Princess Belle's assessment for ADHD and to work on a plan on how to help her in school.
  3. I was pleased that she said that she really likes Princess Belle and likes working with her. That she seems eager to please.
  4. I am starting my Christmas shopping this week. I hope to have it done soon.
  5. It won't be a huge Christmas, but it will be Princess Mag-pie's first one, so it will be special anyway.
  6. I am inventing a low carb cream soup recipe. I hope it tastes good. I wanted something to use up the ingredients that I would enjoy.
  7. Princess Mag-pie has decided that she HATES being put to sleep. She gets so mad when she realizes that she is falling asleep.
  8. You haven't seen anything until you have seen a four month old throw a temper tantrum.
  9. She is almost turning over now. She flips onto her side, hovers like she is about to go on her belly and then flips back onto her back.
  10. I have a lot of projects that I am trying to get done. Time and energy are working against me.
  11. I love taking pictures and I would love to own a "Rebel" sometime. I can't imagine how much better my pics would be.
  12. Princess Belle is doing sooo much better about her bed-wetting. I am so proud of her and she is too.
  13. Every day I put on a clean shirt. Every day, I feed Princess Mag-pie and she wipes her formula stained face in my shirt. I am officially the mom who walks around with milk-stained shirts. LOL

Tackle It Tuesday #44

My Tackle It Tuesday was tough this week and it is an absolute shock I got it done. Princess Mag-pie is superglued to my arms all day long as she is teething and cranky. But I managed to get her to sit in her car seat and watch me while I did this. I don't know how I managed it, but it was a blessing to have some time with no baby in my arms.

Anyway, we are getting a new couch after Christmas. We have it on layaway and I can't wait to see it. But the living room needed to be changed around in order to get the couch and love seat to fit. And I have been getting irritated by the sun shining on the television when I am cuddling Princess Mag-pie during the day. So, today, I moved everything around. When we get the couch and loveseat, I will remove the playpen and the chair and the couch will go under the window and the loveseat will go under the pictures. And for now, it is finally cleaned again (again an impossible task these days) and it looks open.

Monday Mumbllings

I didn't get 1 1/2 hours of free time this morning. Princess Mag-pie fooled me and woke up as soon as her sister left the house. I am hoping that this was a freak accident and she will return to sleeping in until 9:30 - 10:30 in the morning.

I am working today on creating a template for someone. It is fun for me. I really enjoy using my brains in that way. I squeeze in the time in five minute increments as I get a few minutes of Princess-Mag-pie free time.

I had fun taking pics of the girls yesterday. They were sweet and both enjoyed it. I love when they match. The lighting was not co-operating though. For some reason, some pics came out red, some came out blue and some came out yellow. It was up to me to try to adjust them afterwards.

I plan to take Christmas Pics of the girls and I plan to take pics of Princess Mag-pie once a month on her birthday for her first year. I am taking these pics with her little green froggy, it gives them a theme and it makes it easier to see how she grows.

My thoughts: I don't understand fully-capable, financially stable mothers who can choose one child over another, who can decide that they will just leave one of their kids with someone else so that they can raise one of their children. I love my girls. They are my world. I would fight tooth and nail any one who try to take either of my kids. And I sure as heck would not hand one over voluntarily without any prompting because I thought if I only had one, I will have more free time to go out and have fun and try to find true love or whatever else I feel like doing. What kind of a mom is that??? I am a mom, love me . . . love my kids. We are a package deal.

ps. I am not talking about down-on-their luck moms who make this decision out of love for their kids. I have the utmost respect for that tough decision. I am talking about a mom who is too darned lazy to take care of the kids she purposefully brought into this world.
