Two teeth!

Little Princess Magpie has two teeth!! She was chewing on my fingers and I realized I was feeling two teeth. They have just cut through and they are a little hard to see, but if you click on it and look closely you can just see there are two teeth on the bottom in the middle. She is still her happy babbly self. I am impressed with how well she is handling it.

Monday Mumblings.

Well Princess Belle is loving her puppy. She is sometimes nervous of him, but he is the first thing she thinks of when she gets up in the morning. She takes him out to pee and cleans up after him. She is a wonderful puppy owner and as a result he is devoted to her. When she goes to bed, he will whimper for a while before climbing up into Prince Charming's arms to cuddle for the rest of the evening. We are still working on housebreaking him, but it is coming along slowly.

Princess Mag-pie is growing like crazy and I am pretty certain she is working on her second tooth. She keeps outgrowing the clothes she has as fast as I can pull them out of storage for her. She is growing so fast that at least I know she must be healthy.

My house is still cluttered with Christmas stuff and I am about ready for it to go away now. Ugh it just feels so cluttered and messy. I HATE cluttered and messy.

Update on Prince Charming

Prince Charming was there until 4 in the morning. At that point they said it was nothing to worry about and gave him some stuff there and a prescription to fill.

A little worried

Prince Charming has taken sick. He is having severe abdominal pain and is being taken to the emergency room by ambulance. Pray for him.

Christmas Eve Five Months Old

It is Christmas Eve. My gifts are wrapped, the house is decorated and I have lobster out for our traditional supper. And I took pics of Princess Mag-pie because she is officially 5 months old!

Seasonal Joy

A friend of mine told me about something cool that happened to her today. She was in the Starbucks drive through yesterday and when she got to the window, the guy said, "OK, here's the deal. The lady 2 cars in front of you wouldn't accept her change. She wanted to pay it forward as far as it would go as a Christmas gift. I have $5 left of her change. Is it ok if she buys your drink for you?" So the lady bought by drink & one for the two people in front of her & and the behind her as well. What a wonderful thing for someone to do. It just made me smile and I had to share it with you.

Christmas Countdown

On the countdown to Christmas and I am not even handy to ready. I have a million presents to wrap. and now to top it all off, I can't find my darned scissors. I had them when I was decorating, but now, out of nowhere they have taken a vacation. Exactly how does one wrap presents without scissors? I may have to break out a sharp knife and give it a shot.

I am happy that I don't have to cook Christmas dinner. I get to have Christmas Lunch at my wonderful neighbours house. We will visit with them and have a nice time and then later, we will go to our Uncle's house for Christmas Supper. It is nice to be able to spend our Christmas with people we care about.

I remember when . . .

It struck me today how many things have changed in my lifetime. I am not an old lady yet I can sit here and be amazed at the new innovations that have become a part of our every day life.

I can remember when there were no remotes for televisions. I remember when you had to turn a dial to change the channel and I blew the picture tube when I changed the channels too many times.

I can remember when nobody had a vcr and my dad decided he was going to buy one. He was the first guy in our neighbourhood to buy one and he had to explain it to me, telling me that a vcr allows you to watch movies in your own home! We thought it was amazingly cool, but laughed because we thought he was dreaming. I stood in the store while my dad talked to the guy about his new vcr and another store clerk introduced me to my very first music video. I asked the clerk what a music video was and he explained that it was music with pictures. And I stood in the middle of the store watching my very first music video.

There are so many things that have changed since I was a kid; sandwich makers, betamax's, push button televisions, remotes with cords, microwaves, everyone owning their own skidoo and atv, a household computer in every home, computers you can carry in your bag or in your pocket, telephones that fit in your ear, whole music music libraries you can carry in your pocket and still have room for your wallet.

It is fun to see the changes that have come in my lifetime, I wonder what changes are in store for my children.

My present under our tree.

Here are some pics of Princess Mag-pie under our tree. (don't worry, I only let her hold the one with the hook in it for a second and then took it away so she wouldn't hurt herself)

First Tooth!

I have been feeling her first tooth the last couple of days. Yesterday, she was chewing on my fingers and I felt a definite bite. My exact words were, "OUCH! That's sharp! She definitely has her first tooth and if she would just stop drooling, I could show it too you."

Finally

The tree is finally decorated, the lights are finally up, I can take a deep breath now. We usually have this stuff done at the beginning of December, this year it took us until now!! This is crazy! Now I have a TON of wrapping to do. Princess Belle helped with it this year. She was very sweet and was determined to oversee or actually help with every bit of it. And this year for the first time, we finally have decorations for outside our house. It is just lights in our windows and lights, garland and Bells for our door for now but I am thrilled to have a pretty door.

I will be sharing pics soon.

If I am a bit quiet . . .

please forgive me, I have had the stomach flu for two days, this is the third day. I am beat out and feeling weak and worn out and sick. I am thinking about you all though, I just don't have much energy for computer time.

We got him!

Here he is! Our brand new puppy!

Early Christmas Break

Yesterday they sent Princess Belle home with a rash. Her rash consists of about 6 or 8 itchy bumps on the back of her neck. We took her to the doctor today and he said that it was either a bacterial infection or a viral infection. He said that she is not to go to school or be I am leaning towards a viral infection because our whole house has been sick with a flu within the last week. I am still getting over it.

Prince Charming is out getting our new puppy now and if he can get him, we are thinking that we will tell her that Santa heard that she was sick and asked daddy to come get a special gift she could have early to make her feel better since she couldn't play with her friends.

Editors note: I think we got it!! There is a 24 hour waiting period before we can pick it up but they spoke to our landlord to verify that we are allowed to own a pet and Prince Charming filled out the paperwork so I think it is ours!!! Woohooo! I get to make my little girl very very happy this year!

Comfort

Some women try to maintain some mystery with their husbands. I know one who has been married for years, has several kids, but to this day, her husband has no idea that she burps and has never seen her naked with the lights on. There are all kinds of things that women do or hide to keep a little mystery with their husband, to keep the romance alive.

I don't do that. Prince Charming knows me. He knows my innermost thoughts. There are times that he knows me better than I know myself. I hide nothing from him. And, I know he loves me anyway. I don't know whether it is a good thing or a bad thing, but I know that it is comforting to me. When I come home and take off my coat, I take off any pretenses too. Here I am free to just be me, to let him see me with my hair down (so to speak, my hair is actually to short to let down LOL) I curl up on the couch in my jammies, he sits in his chair with his shirt off and his bare feet and we are comfortable. I love that time with him. It may not be romantic but it is cozy and comforting and I look forward to a lifetime of that.

Community Christmas Party

One of my favorite things about this neighbourhood is the community. I love that we have a tenants association that does stuff for all the holidays. today, we attended the Christmas Party. Princess Belle was so excited to see Santa again she even picked out her own outfit, and Princess Magpie didn't cry when she saw him. I got pics as this was the first time that Princess Magpie saw Santa. It was fun and I love to see the kids so excited. After we got home, after Prince Charming went for a nap, I got an idea and so I changed around the living room to give us a place to put our Christmas tree. After I was done, I rearranged the kitchen to free up a space for a certain present I happen to be aware of. The funny thing is that I moved the table to the center of the kitchen to get it out of the way to move the shelves and when it was there, I looked and thought, "hmm, that looks rather nice there." So for now, it will stay like that. I like it.

Saturday Photohunt -- favorite

Theme: Favorite Become a Photo Hunter

The theme this week is Favorite. My first thought is that I should post a pic of my favorite people. I have some lovely pics of my family whom I adore more than life itself. But then I thought about it and I decided I had to something different. I decided to share a pic of the favorite place that I have ever lived. This was the view from my kitchen window. You see that water out there, that was the ocean. It was lovely and quiet and I actually knew all my neighbours and I counted myself lucky that Grandma Great was one of them.
